I didn’t bother mentioning this yesterday,  because, quite frankly there’s only so much of this issue I really care about. This is what he said Thursday, on MSNBC
“North Carolina did something that was very strong, and they are paying a big price and there’s a lot of problems,” responded Trump.
“North Carolina, what they are going through with all of the business that’s leaving and the strife– and that’a on both sides. Leave it the way it is. There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate, there has been so little trouble,” he said.
On to Friday
(CBS News) Â Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is tweaking his stance on North Carolina’s transgender bathroom law less than a day after he voiced his opposition to the legislation and suggested the state should just “leave it the way it is.”
“I love North Carolina, and they have a law, and it’s a law that, you know, unfortunately is causing them some problems,” Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview Thursday night. “And I fully understand that they want to go through, but they are losing business, and they are having people come out against.”
“I think that local communities and states should make the decision,” he went on to say. “And I feel very strongly about that. The federal government should not be involved.”
“In other words, let the state decide,” Hannity responded. “Kind of like your positions on education, give it back to the states.”
“Yeah, let them decide,” Trump said. “Absolutely.”
Ace Of Spades Thursday
Prediction: within 24 hours he announces a major reversal on this plank and begins using the most extreme language possible to put him in sync with what he imagines conservative opinion to be.
Close. He’s certainly modified his position.
Let me address something, per an email I received asking why I care about this issue. Quite frankly, if it wasn’t happening in North Carolina, I wouldn’t. Maybe a post or two, but, really, how many other Bathroom Wars posts have I dropped since I started this blog in 2004? A handful? There aren’t even that many on LGBT, or whatever acronym they’re using today.
Usually, my only interest has to do with using force of government, along with tactics like strongarming people, shaming, insults, browbeating, denigrating opponents, etc. Rarely do these folks, along with the wider Progressive community, attempt rational discourse to bring people to their side. They prefer vinegar over honey, if you get my meaning. I’ve said numerous times that my brand of Conservatism, known as Classical Liberalism, gives me a belief that if it isn’t negatively affecting me, and annoying me or bugging me doesn’t count, why would I care? Most LGBT stuff doesn’t harm me. Live and let live.
But, this is happening in NC. I do not think Government should force the private sector to comply with mandates that force them to let the gender confused use the bathroom of their gender choice. Let the business choose. Better yet, provide a reasonable, adult argument and convince people, bring them to your side.
The immoral, leftist (or is he a squish?), Charles Krauthammer, agreed with Thursday Trump on FOX. Not sure what he thinks of Friday Trump’s new position.
It’s possible that Saturday Trump will call for banning transsexuals and Sunday Trump will want to build a wall keeping them out of NC bathrooms.
Monday Trump will be back to normal, talking about his daughter’s boobs.
Can anyone explain how NC will enforce their new law?
Does someone have to guard each State-controlled bathroom and check birth certificates?
The Common Sense Confused legislators sure stepped into a steaming pile with this one.
Sometimes when you make a big mistake, there is no better option than to undo what you did and apologize.
Can the citizens in NC remove the legislators that created this mess and the governor who signed it?
As I’ve written numerous times here (and on other sites, like WTVD.com, where they listen about as well as Jeff), there are no enforcement mechanisms. There aren’t supposed to be. This is about restricting government, not punishing citizens.
Please try and retain this information, Jeff. I shan’t answer the question from you again.
Got it. It was a toothless political statement. Good use of NC state resources.
On the bright side, in your headline you referred to the law accurately as the

Again, you have horrible reading comprehension and retention. This law was primarily aimed at Government, not citizens, telling government what it will and will not do.
Teach:
Since you brought up reading comprehension, did you even read the law, or are you reLying on your Governor’s misleading propaganda?
If you prefer to trade insults instead of discussing this issue, I’m fine with that.
Perhaps, just perhaps, the problem isn’t with people not understanding your brilliant prose, perhaps, just perhaps, people don’t believe what you’re shoveling.
In part, the law reads:
§ 115C-521.2. Single-sex multiple occupancy bathroom and changing facilities.
(b) Local boards of education shall require every multiple occupancy bathroom or changing facility that is designated for student use to be designated for and used only by students based on their biological sex.
§ 143-760. Single-sex multiple occupancy bathroom and changing facilities.
(b) Public agencies shall require every multiple occupancy bathroom or changing facility to be designated for and only used by persons based on their biological sex.
It seems to me the NC legislature shall require that local school boards and public agencies enact policies to make certain that multiple occupancy bathrooms are used only by persons based on their biological sex, as determined by their birth certificate.
To me, the phrases “shall require” and “used only by” or “only used by” seem pretty direct.
Where in the bill is it “about restricting government”? Is it your argument that forcing local and State entities to monitor who uses their bathrooms is “restricting government”?
Here are a few relevant definitions included in the law.
Biological sex. – The physical condition of being male or female, which is stated on a person’s birth certificate.
Public agency. – Includes any of the following:
Executive branch agencies.
All agencies, boards, offices, and departments under the direction and control of a member of the Council of State.
“Unit” as defined in G.S. 159-7(b)(15).
“Public authority” as defined in G.S. 159-7(b)(10).
A local board of education.
The judicial branch.
The legislative branch.
Any other political subdivision of the State.
Teach:
The NC legislature and the Governor clearly stated that public agencies and local school boards shall require every multiple occupancy bathroom or changing facility to be designated for and only used by persons based on their biological sex.
Jeff,
You are obsessed with this topic. Are you transsexual? For that matter, have you ever met a trans? Do you know their psychological make up?(I do, I have treated them) Like everything you comment on, I seriously doubt that you have any idea as to what you are talking about. Teach did not initiate a discussion based on name calling, you did. You never, ever discuss that principals of a topic and have no depth of knowledge or understanding. Your logic is flawed and you are the biggest bigot and racist that I have ever seen. You want to make sure that sick people can use what bathroom they desire. Do you ever think that this might be uncomfortable to women? Or are you like all the liberals and only use women as an excuse to attack the Republicans while always doing the things you accuse the conservative of. The law does have teeth, if someone with a penis goes into the women’s room, they scream, the cops come and the guy goes down town and any of a number of charges (in the US, you are always breaking the law, thanks to the liberals passing so many).
I’ve explained multiple times. You either don’t get it, or you’re intentionally obtuse.
dave,
You should ask Teach why he runs so many articles on the topic.
I’m obsessed with the truth. Teach is a liar and is disseminating disinformation. He got caught and now refuses to discuss it.
Why aren’t you obsessed with obvious discrimination and oppression? I think I know the answer.
The language of the law seems pretty clear and it’s not what Teach says it is.
The nation has not been fooled though and the citizens of NC are paying the price for electing bigoted extremists.
-the little guy who exaggerates often and is intentionally obtuse
We get it. Teach has no evidence to support his bigotry so he made some up.
