The meltdown in the Cult of Climatastrology continues
Conservatives elected Trump; now they own climate change
Anyone who voted for Trump shares the responsibility for the climate damages resulting from his presidency
I’m good with that. How about you?
The one thing that isn’t transient is the impact this will have on climate change. It is now virtually certain the world will not meet any of its climate targets. If Trump (and the Republican-controlled Congress) stand by their pledges, we will see a major rollback of the tremendous progress that has been made on reducing emissions. A Trump presidency will likely set us back at least a decade, perhaps longer. And that is a decade we can’t afford.
The world will blow past the 2C (3.6F) target set in Paris. This means it will be difficult to avoid the worst consequences of climate change.
If there were only some measures that Warmists could take in their own lives. Can anyone think what they might be?
The election also affects how we should talk about climate change. In the US, and in many other countries, opposing steps to cut carbon pollution has become a litmus test for conservative politicians. So, in this sense, conservatives now own climate change. I can just imagine the slogans, “Climate change, brought to you by your neighborhood conservatives.â€
Well, now, that’s a cute rhetorical flourish in making other people responsible for something they don’t believe in.
Conservatives own climate change.
Conservatives own the consequences of climate change.
They own the increased droughts, more severe storms, sea level rise, and floods.
They own the heat waves, the loss of habitat and the shifting climate zones.
They own the climate refugees, the resulting political strive, and climate conflicts.
They own it all.
And when all the prognostications fail to materialize, will Warmists own their failure?
Well, just imagine it: what if President Obama had crafted the Paris climate change agreement in such a way that it required Senate approval, signed it, submitted it, and gotten the Senate to ratify it. Then it wouldn’t matter: incoming President Trump would be bound by it.
Alas! President Obama didn’t do that, kept it an executive agreement only, meaning that the incoming President can throw it away.
Conservatives always end up “owning” liberal failures and then they have to fix them. Which they do.
Now comes the question “will he throw it away?”
I am confidant we will now begin to see and hear the real unemployment numbers in the news and on TV. I have faith that the “Homeless Problem” will once again be newsworthy. The talking heads will no doubt be discussing the deficit, the debt, the trade imbalance and the number of business closures.
Prepare for an onslaught of discrimination stories and the inhumanity of not allowing a three year old kid to be taught he’s a girl.
The conservatives will “own” everything created by the leftists pigs. We’re used to it.
Y’all now own a lot more than climate change.
Y’all are now responsible for governing for the first time in a long time. Can y’all do it or are you just bomb throwers?
It will be interesting to see how the majority feels about the repeal of the ACA, tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, slashing of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to balance the budget, massive deportations, surveillance of mosques, trade wars, nationwide stop and frisk, restrictive abortion laws, etc. And if the voters get angry at him, House Repugs will pay the price and Trump will be impeached in short order.
The problem with the Trump presidency isn’t Trump, per se. Although he is certainly a sociopath and narcissist and fascist. The problem is that he will be a toady of the congressional right wing, signing on to hairbrained scheme after harebrained scheme. If he doesn’t he has a right-wing rebellion. He’s in a tough spot. It will be almost impossible for him to satisfy his alt-right supporters. He may get shot.
Good one! Oh, you were serious. S and L Crisis, Great Recession, Iraq invasion, national debt etc etc and so forth.
Were you bothered by Trump’s tepid and conciliatory acceptance speech? Do you think he is just lying low?
His most ardent supporters expect a little more nigger, spic, muzzy, illegal, bitches, fag talk from him.
And how gracious were Secretary Clinton and President Obama in their speeches re Trump? Or do you just consider that weak?
Will you be disappointed if he doesn’t appoint a special prosecutor to pursue Hillary and Bill?
Why did you lie about serving in the Army, little guy?
“Conservatives own droughts , heatwaves, blah, blah”. Hilarious. None of which can be shown to have been caused by CO2, none of which have been getting worse, and all of which have happened before. Except the “climate refugees”. Yes, where are they? Supposed to have created millions of them (we were told) years ago.
The one that every commentator on all networks thought was great and struck the right tone?
You want to take issue with that?
Not any that I have seen.
Hillary’s supporters, on the other hand, went out and broke the law, burned things, trashed thing, etc.
You don’t have trouble with their actions?
I didn’t hear Obama’s speech, but Clinton’s speech was anything less than gracious.
She got beat, and still clung to the idea that she lost not because she was a lousy person and candidate, but because she was a woman.
The past has shown that the Clintons are untouchable in the courts and people like you give them a pass on who they really are.
I don’t care whether he appoints a special prosecutor or not.
Do you think Obama should pardon the Clintons?
There’s that little racist and bigot we all love. Go get’em Sparky.
Your panties are in a bunch because KILLARY LOST!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha

I also found it conciliatory and struck the right tone. I was asking how the right-wing extremists that comment here felt.
I’m not suggesting that any of Teach’s commenters are harassing others, just that other Trump supporters are. This is not to suggest that all Trump supporters are alt-right white supremacists just that most alt-right white supremacists are Trump supporters.
Certainly Trump’s campaign targeting Blacks, women, Muslims, Hispanic, LGBTQ did nothing to tamp down the hatred.

Exactly what do you consider to be a right-wing extremist, Jeffery?
It wasn’t his responsibility to tamp down the hatred from the left and the false claims of hatred they raise.
Here in my town, a kid walked through his school with a Trump sticker on his books and was attacked.
The same school had incidents when Obama was elected in 2008 where white students were attacked by minorities.
The divide in the country is from the left, Jeffery.
LOL. Better get used to it donnie dump.
Maybe he’ll call out the troops to shoot the protesters! After all donnie is s fascist at heart.
Jeffery, like all you leftists you are great at calling people names but you’re real short on truth. How is Trump a fascist?
Once again, what is the extreme right wing? You keep calling names with no reference nor meaning.
I do understand your frustration. After all, America just took a giant crap on Obama, Killary, Pelosi, Reid, you, john, Zach and all the rest of the commie loving left that has hurt America so badly. Buck up son, the best is yet to come.
Hahahahahahahahah

Don’t ask Jeffery for proof of anything. He never can deliver. I know that’s a shock to most of you.
