Trump Supposedly Ready To Pull Out Of Worthless Paris Climate Agreement

Is this something? Is it real? Axios’ Johnathan Swan and Amy Harder have a bold scoop

Scoop: Trump tells confidants U.S. will quit Paris climate deal

President Trump has privately told multiple people, including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, that he plans to leave the Paris agreement on climate change, according to three sources with direct knowledge.

Publicly, Trump’s position is that he has not made up his mind and when we asked the White House about these private comments, Director of Strategic Communications Hope Hicks said, “I think his tweet was clear. He will make a decision this week.”

Why this matters: Pulling out of Paris is the biggest thing Trump could to do unravel Obama’s climate policies. It also sends a stark and combative signal to the rest of the world that working with other nations on climate change isn’t a priority to the Trump administration. And pulling out threatens to unravel the ambition of the entire deal, given how integral former President Obama was in making it come together in the first place.

Caveat: Although Trump made it clear during the campaign and in multiple conversations before his overseas trip that he favored withdrawal, he has been known to abruptly change his mind — and often floats notions to gauge the reaction of friends and aides. On the trip, he spent many hours with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, powerful advisers who back the deal.

Here’s the thing, as mentioned in the “caveat”: Trump made plenty of promises to pull out of Obama’s Paris Climate Agreement prior to the election. Yet, he’s been in office for over four months, and he has still not rescinded Obama’s signature on the document. He had plenty of time post-election to cobble something together in order to terminate America’s participation (due to one climahypocrites decree) in this massive forced taxpayer money distributive scheme which would make almost no difference in the global temperature, a whopping .3C by 2100, at a cost of $1 to $2 trillion per year globally. That’s if the computer models from the Cult of Climastrology can be trusted. And they can’t. It would most likely make no difference to the temperature, but, it would be great for the fascists who want to enable more and more power in centralized governments.

The unnamed official lays out three ways that Trump could do this. First is send a notification that America is pulling out, which could take years, and would give Trump time to change his mind. Second, he could put it up to the Senate for ratification, which would certainly end with it being toast. Even with the Warmist GOP Senators, such as Lindsay Graham and John McCain, it wouldn’t get the 2/3rds necessary.

Third, he could simply pull out of the entire U.N. hotcoldwetdry framework, the entire Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change, the 1992 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

There is a fourth option, which few discuss, and could be tricky, and that’s simply to sign an executive order disposing of Obama’s signature on the Paris agreement, since the original signature amounted to an executive order. Despite the document being set up to avoid handing it to the Senate for agreement as a treaty, it still resembles a treaty, which requires the Senate to agree. As that never happened, Trump could whack it with the old John Hancock.

He could also say that while the U.S. will not pull out, we will not participate in anything having to do with the PCC, since it is, essentially, voluntary at its heart. This is dangerous, as it would leave it in force for a future Democrat president.

What happens? I guess we’ll see.
