The NY Times has a rather informal motto, “the paper of record.” It’s formal slogan has been “all the news fit to print.” And there’s this

The NY Times has been the nation’s leading newspaper. So, we of course, get this, an article that just continues to be updated, rather than news one, and it has a big whopper
Body Believed to Be That of Mollie Tibbetts, Iowa College Student, Is Found
9:15 p.m.
The immigrant from Mexico charged in the kidnapping and murder of an Iowa college student worked at a dairy farm owned by the family of a prominent state Republican leader.
Yarrabee Farms said in a statement that Cristhian Bahena Rivera had worked at its farms for the last four years and was an employee in good standing. (what’s missing right here?) The company said it was shocked to hear that Rivera had been charged in the death of 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts.
Spokesman Dane Lang said Tuesday night that Yarrabee Farms is a “small family farm” owned by him and his father, Craig Lang, who has long been a prominent Iowa farmer and political figure.
Craig Lang previously served as president of the Iowa Farm Bureau and president of the Iowa Board of Regents, which governs the state’s public universities. In June, he lost a close GOP primary in the race for state agriculture secretary.
Rivera was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in Tibbetts’ death.
What’s the takeaway? That a Republican had employed an illegal alien who ended up killing Mollie. That Republicans are hypocrites. Republicans bad!!!! CNN gives the “blame Republicans” schtick a whirl, though they do include the Relevant Information
Suspect worked for prominent Republican (this is a subhead in the article)
Rivera has been in the area for four to seven years, Rahn said. (snip)
“This individual has worked at our farms for four years, was vetted through the government’s E-Verify system, and was an employee in good standing.”
Many other outlets take this same line about him working for “a prominent Republican”, but include that he passed the E-Verify system. But not the NY Times. And then they wonder why Trump and so many others call them “fake news”. Trump really should just call them “biased news”, but, that doesn’t roll of the tongue as well.
Feminist1: “Rivera worked for a damn man!”
Vegan: “Rivera worked with slave cows!”
New Yorker: “Rivera worked in flyover country!”
Sinaloan: “Rivera was an ignorant Guerreran!”
Ford Guy: “Rivera drove a Government Motors Chevy!”
Feminist2: “Rivera played violent video games!”
College Prof: “Rivera didn’t have a college education!”
…
everyone has an agenda
FOX and the right-wing echo chamber dancing on a young woman’s grave to distract from tRump’s legal problems.
Not surprised.
Now you whine when it’s pointed out that the murderer was employed by a Republican, even though you whined yesterday (falsely) that the media wouldn’t emphasize his immigration status.
Hoist by your own petard.
I notice when MSM Leftist lie, lately they preface their lie with, “Let me be perfectly honest.”
Jeff – Now you whine when the truth is exposed.
Typical Leftist.
Au contraire mon frere! No one is denying that the murderer of Mollie Tibbetts is in the US illegally and should be skinned alive.
Wm Teach is whining that it was pointed out that the murderer worked for a prominent Republican.
The Republicans will make this the cornerstone of the coming elections.
“Dancing on the young woman’s grave.†Not at all. We hope to be dancing on the Illegal invader’s grave.
Jeff,
Why don’t you articulate what influence the legal problems of the two guys has for Trump. Specfically, what do you think Trump did wrong, and please have some evidence.
david,
Michael Cohen, tRump’s long time consigliere, when allocating to felonies, implicated the President in the payment of nearly $300,000 of hush money to silence two women so as to influence the 2016 election. Cohen stated under oath that candidate tRump directed him to make the payments, in violation of campaign finance laws. It could even reach the threshold of conspiracy. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Manafort was tRump’s Campaign Chairman at the same time he was taking millions from one of Putin’s buddies, a Russian oligarch (via The Ukraine).
Do you agree that we’re a nation of laws, and that should apply even to the President? But rest easy, the feckless GOP has tRump’s back and tRump’s DOJ will not indict him. So he’s safe.
His Russian buddies are working hard to bugger the mid-terms and the GOP Congress is refusing to intercede.
Jeff,
Cohn likely paid two women to stay out of Trumps affairs. Guess what? That is not against the law. To keep their little stories out of the press in an election, again not against the law. Irregular payments out of an election fund, not established or of major significance. At best that is a fine. In other words, you have no idea as to what you are talking about. What about Hillary shifting money about with the DNC. Now that you go to jail for. So once again please articulate the crime and the ebidence.
Why was it a felony for Michael Cohen to pay off the women, but not a crime for the President to direct him to do it and give him the money?

Jeff,
That is the sun of things, due to take news we have no idea of the charges. Now don’t worry about Cohn, tell us what Trump did wrong.
No crimes have been committed by the President.
None.
Alan Dershowitz disagrees. Just heard him give a 15-minute lecture on how Trump still hasn’t done anything illegal. Should have been Cohn’s job as Trump’s attorney to advise him not to do anything illegal, and certainly not be the bagman for any such job.
I am thinking that the death of this poor girl will push the November elections to the Republicans.
Certainly the GOP is hoping to dance on her grave to victory!
Her death, while tragic, is a great boon to the GOP.
That’s why they are so happy about her murder.
Jeff,
Unlike liberals/communist, conservatives are not gleeful about the death of this poor girl. But it does put a good face on the main platform of the Dems of disregarding our laws. I personally think the employer of this scum should serve jail time. And the family should be allowed to use the DNC
The Des Moines Register:
Mollie Tibbetts’ accused killer is in Iowa legally, his lawyer says
https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/investigations/2018/08/22/mollie-tibbetts-alleged-killer-iowa-legally-lawyer-missing-student-body-found-brooklyn-trump/1064567002/
That narrative is falling apart, Jeffery..
The brief cites the idea that the employer used the E-Verify system to prove the accused killer was in the country legally. The lawyer used a statement the farm owner to make this claim.
On Wednesday, the owner retracted the statement which means the claim by the lawyer in his brief falls apart.
The fact of the matter is that ICE and US Citizenship & Immigration Services officials say the killer has no immigration status at all in their system.
How much money did the democrats raise off of Parkland, etc.? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Tibbett’s death is inconvenient for democrats.

Worked for a Bus/Rove Republican. they are very different from the Don/Ronny/Barry Republicans!
Some have derisively labeled the Bush Republicans R.I.N.O.; not I
