Open Borders: AOC Wanted To Know Why ICE Should Still Be Funded

Post-Trump speech, the always quotable, usually for the wrong reasons, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a question

(Daily Caller) Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used her appearance on MSNBC — following President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address on Tuesday night — to demand the president explain why ICE shouldn’t be abolished. (video at the link)

Ocasio-Cortez began, “No one should feel unsafe in the United States of America. And that includes our amazing and beautiful and productive immigrant community and moreover, the one thing the president has not talked about is the fact he has systematically engaged in the violation of international human rights borders — human rights on our border.”

“He talked about what happened the day after Christmas on the day of Christmas, a child died in ICE custody. The president should not be asking for more money to an agency that has systematically violated human rights,” she continued. “The president should be really defending why we are funding such an agency at all because right now what we are seeing is death.”

Remember, she’s now a sitting member of the House Of Representatives, and doesn’t understand the difference between ICE and CBP (Customs and Border Protection). Nor what they do. Nor that the child died due to the actions of the parent in dragging the child 2,000 miles with limited food, water, and hygiene. Nor that the child was in the custody of CBP, not ICE. Nor that long established federal law states that the penalty for a first time offender of being unlawfully present is a small fine and deportation. Which is one of ICE’s duties.

As for feeling unsafe in America, how about all the people who feel unsafe due to the criminals illegally crossing the border, and the drugs and weapons many bring? How about that AOC, along with her open borders palls in the Democratic Party, want to take away firearms from law abiding citizens who want to protect themselves and their families?

    While he is at it, the President should explain why he feels he should have to explain how the government works to the junior congresswoman from the demonstrably stupidest district in the USA. And that is only because Cynthia McKinney isn’t in office any longer.

    I agree fundamentally with this sentiment. Everyone should feel safe within the borders of the United States. Unfortunately the left does not seem to think safety goes out to American citizens only to illegals and Hispanics.

    Is it not the left who has overseen the militarization of their big cities? Hundreds of murders per week in the big cities. Thousands of rapes and violent crimes and yet the left has done nothing to help the citizens living in the inner cities of our nation. Instead they have demonized the right as being racist when they could have easily fixed the inner city problems, fixed the border problem in the two years in which they had almost 60 votes in the senate and owned the house and the presidency. Surely a couple of GOP would have crossed over to finish off inner city help. Border security which the democrats in 2010 were upset over.

    The citizens of America deserve better than both parties are giving them but especially in this case they deserve to know everything that can be done is being done to endsure their children are safe from gangs and thugs and drugs.

    The By-product of this is that Hispanics will no longer have to fear being deported which at the moment that number in Pew surveys is really high at 71 percent. The Hispanic citizens need to know they are safe. Whites and Blacks need to know they are safe. People of all colors and persuasions, sex as well as religion need to believe they are safe within our borders.

    So for that I will agree with half of what AOC says. She just needs to finish the sentence that is all inclusive. Something America has always stood for.

    She’s such a moron it’s not even sporty to make fun of her anymore. And when you can’t even be intellectually honest enough to separate legal and illegal immigrants it’s not even worth listening to what you’re trying to say.

    And I’m curious, are all these “real Americans” coming across the border with money for first and last months rent, utility hook-ups, food, transportation, etc.? Or, has the democrat party finally looked into it’s own soul and decided the government-dependent types are their truth of the “real America.”
