On Wednesday, the Democratic senator from California is set to detail her proposal to stop importing the weapons until the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives can analyze whether the ban should be permanent.

I dont think this will cause a spike in gun sales, because she has little chance of winning the nomination at this time. But, it does show where the minds of the gun grabbers are. We now await the NY Times and other outlets to decry her use of executive power to limit citizen’s Rights.

They HAVE been banned since the 1980’s Bush banned the import of semi automatic rifles in March 1989, and made the ban permanent in July 1989. So she is banning nothing. DS arms imported the whole Argentine factory for manufacturing FN weapons.

Teach misleads his loyal readers by saying the AR-15 style assault weapons (renamed Modern Sporting Rifles for marketing purposes) are the same as any semiauto rifle, purposely ignoring the modular design of the MSRs, the improved handling, pistol grip, lighter weight, forward grip, flash suppressor, large exchangeable magazines etc. They are designed for shooting people in mass quantities. That’s why in a recent survey of mass shooters, they prefer them 3:1!
But like mass murders, the MSRs are here to stay. As the NRA and conservative common taters continue to frighten the bejeebus out of us, many men want them as survival gear for when the Muslim/commie/Black/gay/Mexican hoards take up their torches and pitchforts to claim America. Target shooting is a sport. An AR-15 can be used for target shooting. Pistol grips are on most rifles, as are forward grips or receivers, large mags, and lighter weight, so, again, you lie.

Thank you formwiz, I have nothing to add to that. And yes Elwood, I was being facetious about the “AR-15 style assault weapons” comment deliberately because it was so obviously all-encompassing to include almost every modern semi-auto rifle and carbine. You know that and I know that. I have a Ruger Mini 14 that falls into that category as well as a Marlin Camp Carbine and a few others. They throw around the term “assault weapon” which to them includes semi-autos and anything black and threatening looking. Original assault weapons were full auto like the Thompson Sub-Machine Gun and unless the leftists have changed the meaning to suit their goals(which they are known to frequently do) they still are full auto.
Oh, and I’ve noticed how they use the “assault weapon” moniker on TV and apply it liberally to any semi auto long gun. And I’m not just talkin’ News, I’m talkin’ CSI, NCIS, Elementary and all those murder stories on Discovery ID. They are constantly brain washing the general public (read dumbassed women) into believing big black gun bad. Just like they did Orange Man Bad.
