Rep. Hurd is one of the most knowledgeable people in Congress when it comes to cybersecurity. Also, if he were a Democrat, people would be screaming about racism, as he is Black
NEW: Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) has been removed as a keynote speaker at a major cybersecurity conference after critics slammed his record on women's issues including abortion. https://t.co/1Osch80wFr

From a Fox News article
Rep. Will Hurd, R-Tex, will no longer be speaking at cyber security conference after critics expressed outrage over his voting record on women’s issues.
Hurd, a former undercover CIA officer and an advocate for cybersecurity on Capitol Hill, was invited to speak at Black Hat, one of biggest cyber security conferences in the country, being held in Las Vegas in August. But Tech Crunch security editor Zach Whittaker highlighted on Thursday what he described was Hurd’s “terrible voting record on women’s rights.” It includes voting against funding for Planned Parenthood, programs supporting women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields, and his support on restricting late-term abortions.
Black Hat initially defended its decision to invite Hurd, saying in a statement “Hurd has a strong background in computer science and information security and has served as an advocate for specific cybersecurity initiatives in Congress,” adding that he will offer a “unique perspective” at the conference.
But, because he’s a Republican and doesn’t support abortion on demand
“Black Hat has chosen to remove U.S. Representative Will Hurd as our 2019 Black Hat USA Keynote. We misjudged the separation of technology and politics,†Black Hat told Tech Crunch. “We will continue to focus on technology and research, however we recognize that Black Hat USA is not the appropriate platform for the polarizing political debate resulting from our choice of speaker,”
Black Hat vowed that the conference is “still fully dedicated to providing an inclusive environment and apologize that this decision did not reflect that sentiment.”
The only ones making this “polarizing” are the unhinged abortion supporters, who are so unhinged and fragile that they cannot listen to a speech on a completely unrelated topic. And Black Hat should be ashamed for caving to the Outrage Mob
He can’t be an expert on cybersecurity because he doesn’t support the Democratic Party’s abortion industry https://t.co/foxN1U0U5Q

Representative Hurd is a unicorn Republican, one of a kind in that he is at times thoughtful, but Black Hat is a private org and decided that Hurd was potentially too political.
The GOPhers were after Hurd recently for his full-throated opposition to “The Wall”.
Frankly, having heard Hurd speak and interview on several occasions I’m certain he would have been apolitical, but the fact remains he’s a modern Republican and supports most of the extremist, anti-woman views of the nuGOP, and the Black Hat attendees and sponsors didn’t want him.
The left have gone all scorched earth these days, and this is just another example of it, and the biggest problem we have is that conservatives are not matching their fire with a hotter fire. They will win, because conservatives will be too polite to fight back.
When we did get someone who is (nominally) conservative who fights back, in Donald Trump, the left were aghast, and even some good conservatives shocked, shocked! into “Never Trumpism.”
So, conservatives will eventually lose, and we will get taken over by the socialists..The US will ten be turned into the same situation which has afflicted the other socialist states, a [insert slang term for feces here]hole country in which people are going dumpster diving for food, like Venezuela, and either fail completely like the USSR or have the totalitarian government readopt capitalism, but with iron totalitarian controls like China. I can only hope that this doesn’t happen until after I’ve gone to my eternal reward. I do fear for my daughters.
dana,
It’s up to all of us to fight for American ideals. Abortion has been legal for nearly 50 years and we’re still standing.
tRump was for abortion before he was against it. He now uses the right-wing fervor opposing immigrants, abortion, women, gays, non-Christians for power.
The Democrats are not promoting changes in the American way of life substantially different from what is already extant in most of Europe. You may not like that, that doesn’t forebode the US turning into the USSR, North Korea, China or Venezuela.
We DO have challenges. tRump IS a nascent fascist and has little respect or even understanding of American values. You don’t understand or choose to ignore the real issue of global warming. For all the ballyhoo regarding the “great” economy, working class Americans are still falling behind.
The actual danger is not a left-wing authoritarian regime, but the much more likely right-wing fascism as already advanced by tRump and his supporters. Perhaps you DO desire a conservative, Caucasian, Christian homeland – but that’s not America.
More repetitive unsubstantiated blather from the silly silly little girl.
LOL. Get f*cked.
Solid argument there, Lillian. We’ll give it the thought it deserves.
Since you’re such an expert on women please tell me exactly how not being for the indiscriminate murder of babies is “anti-woman”. You’re telling us that encouraging women to kill their offspring is somehow pro-women? Why do leftist radicals hate babies? I thought “children are our future” and all that good crap, but you all want to kill them. You’re a bunch of immoral, murdering communists. As usual!
Hey, hey, hey how many black babies did you kill today?
Trump 2020
In the People’s Republic of China, there are 137 men of marriageable age for every 100 women. This is what the one-child policy and abortion have created, because fathers have a natural preference for sons over daughters. In India, while the numbers are different, the problem is the same: a society which uses abortion for birth control has ultrasound centers, where pregnant women can see whether they are carrying a boy or a girl, and abort the girl baby, for economic reasons.
But it’s being opposed to abortion that’s anti-women?
Kye,
The Supreme Court concluded women have a right to abortion without hindrance through the second trimester.
Do you oppose that right?
Abortion is not murder regardless of how often you say it. We do understand the emotional component of the abortion debate from your side, whether it’s fomented by religious belief or a rare conservative commodity these days, sympathy.
What punishment would you mete out to a woman guilty of aborting (in your words, murdering) her baby? If it’s murder, and if the woman was complicit, shouldn’t she be punished? It sounds like 1st degree murder to me. Premeditated and especially violent.
No one wants an abortion. Unfortunately, circumstances can force difficult choices.
Do you really believe that abortion is the murder of babies? If so, why are you typing about it rather than preventing it?
Do you support universal and easy access to contraception for all women? If not, why not? That would reduce the need for abortion. How about help with child care? That would reduce abortions. How about universal healthcare? That would reduce abortions.
Look into your own heart. Are you more concerned about the children of America or in controlling the lives of women?
“The border crisis is a myth.”
— Will Hurd (Jan. 18, 2019)
WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday U.S. (June 12, 2019)
Representative Will Hurd (TX-23) urged his colleagues to support $30 million in federal funding to reimburse local communities strained by the humanitarian crisis on our Southern border.
LOL. Get f*cked.
abortion is not a woman’s issue. it is a baby’s issue. abortion does not rip apart a woman, it rips apart a baby. do abortion rights people support slavery. after all, it’s a property owner’s right to own his property and no one has a right to tell him what he can do with his property.
