Well, sure, why not, Liberals are trying to cancel everything else right now, taking advantage of the whole black lives matter thing
NYT Publishes Peter Beinart Op-ed Calling for End of Israel
Liberal writer Peter Beinart’s latest oped published in the New York Times Wednesday has sparked outrage among U.S. Jewish leaders for calling for the end of Israel.
The opinion article, entitled “I No Longer Believe in a Jewish State,†calls for Israel to be replaced with a binational, unitary state called “Israel-Palestine.â€
“Israel-Palestine can be a Jewish home that is also, equally, a Palestinian home,†writes Beinart in the July 8 piece.
The head of the American Jewish Committee compared Beinart’s remarks to those of late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, who called for a similar “solution†to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in a 2001 oped published by the Times.
“NYTimes’ opeds calling for the end of Israel, the tiny sliver of land where Jews exercise sovereignty in their ancestral home: -Muammar Qaddafi, 1/21/09 –Peter Beinart, 7/8/20 Can anyone recall the NYTimes publishing opeds urging the end of any other nation (& UN member)? Hmm,†Harris wrote.
Beinart wrote
Israel has all but made its decision: one country that includes millions of Palestinians who lack basic rights. Now liberal Zionists must make our decision, too. It’s time to abandon the traditional two-state solution and embrace the goal of equal rights for Jews and Palestinians. It’s time to imagine a Jewish home that is not a Jewish state.
Equality could come in the form of one state that includes Israel, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, as writers such as Yousef Munayyer and Edward Said have proposed; or it could be a confederation that allows free movement between two deeply integrated countries. (I discuss these options at greater length in an essay in Jewish Currents). The process of achieving equality would be long and difficult, and would most likely meet resistance from both Palestinian and Jewish hard-liners.
Beinart forgets that it’s Palestinians (and terrorists operating in the name of Palestinians) who keep attacking Israel with bombs and guns and knives and more. Who intentionally attack civilians. And that Palestinians who are Israeli citizens have more rights than most people do in all the other Middle East nations.
What this all is, though, is just Excuse-making for the destruction of Israel, the only Democracy model nation in the ME, and, more importantly, the Jewish homeland, because even non-Israeli Jews like Beinart have been taught to hate Israel and Jews.
Israel, and the Israel-occupied territories of Gaza and the West Bank are inhabited by approximately equal numbers of Arabs and Jews. Beinart calls for equal rights for the Palestinians.
As always, US conservatives oppose true democracy.
Yep. That’s why we have and favor a Constitutional Republic. Might want to look that up, genius.
Lolgfy
Of course we oppose democracy. It’s tyranny of the majority. May as well put Stalin in charge.
Do you want your rights dictated by 50%+one? I sure don’t. Especially the way your side keeps changing the rules. Hell, we HAVE a constitution and trying to get you guys to abide by it is murder (literally in the case of abortion).
The Israelis made a tremendous mistake in 1967-68. If they wanted to keep the land they conquered in the Six Day War, they should have expelled every last Arab in that territory, expelled them in to Jordan, Egypt and Syria, and annexed the land. That would have given them the land as well as shortened, more defensible borders.
Instead, they thought they could ‘encourage’ the Arabs to leave, by making conditions miserable for them, and it didn’t work, and now they have millions of Arabs who hate them living under their thumb. Sadly, the option open to Israel in 1967-68 is no longer there.
There are only two sensible choices: either surrender the captured territory back to the Arabs, or exterminate them all, and the Israelis don’t have the will to kill them.
Dana, I used to be a big supporter of Israel and not because my wife was Jewish but because I believed them to be a good ally, a refuge for oppressed Jews from around the globe and the only actually free nation in the Middle East.
But, as so often happens, they let their liberalism infect their thinking until their mind was so open their brains fell out. They made the same stupid, stupid mistake we are making. They allowed mooslems who are thoroughly dedicated to the murder of all non-mooslems, especially Jews, into their country just as we are doing.
Israel just like America has decided that bringing in those who want to destroy you to show your commitment to Freedom. That’s not how it works. Freedom only works if all the players believe in it and are playing by the same rules. Black Lives Matter is a case in point. They use black racism to promote communist ideals.
They and we have lost. It’s just a matter of time. And I can assure you from history the communists and racists are not as Freedom friendly to their enemies as we have been.
Trump 2020 We need to decide if this Republic will continue or not!
This is mooslems!

Beinart: “Palestinians will live peacefully alongside Jews when they are granted basic rights.â€
Arab reaction: hahahahahahahahaha
He’s just another communist trying to bring down a democratic free society by forcing it to take in mass numbers of unskilled people that have to be put on welfare. Well, they’re already on welfare, this will move them up to gold star welfare. He doesn’t care about race, religion, palestinians, or property, he just can’t stand to have a successful democratic republic with free people in the world.
“The racist argument holds that non-Jews have the right to decide whether the Jews are a people or not; that the Jews are not a people and as such, have no collective rights; and that because of this, the Jewish state is an abomination before God and/or the catechism of human rights and equality.
This phenomenon has been illustrated again in recent days by pundit Peter Beinart’s embrace of the racist argument. Beinart has been heading in this direction for a long time, and many suspected that this would be his endgame. Nonetheless, his argument has been duly enshrined by the opinion editors of The New York Times.”
