Inflation. Do not be surprised if the FEDS declare in the next three months that inflation is only some ridiculous number such as 2 percent or 3 percent. Why? You might ask.
Because the Cost of living adjustment is made based upon core inflation during the third quarter of the year. In this case July, August and September. So for those expecting a huge pay increase on things such as Social Security etc. do not be surprised if the Government declares inflation is defeated in the coming three months all the while you watch prices around you skyrocket.
Just another reason why no one trusts our government any longer. These sanctimonious SOB’s do not realize how devastating inflation can be to seniors on a fixed income. Yet they have no money to pay them and they certainly don’t want to commit to giving 60 million people a 10 percent raise.
Just imagine a 10 percent raise could mean anywhere from 60 dollars per month to 300 dollars per month as few people make more than 3000 dollars per month SSI or SSDI. A paltry increase for most but combined it is a large chunk the DEMS and REPUBS could be using on a pork project.
So watch the prices in the coming three months and then watch the feds statements on inflation and you will get a feeling for the paltry 2-3 percent raise Seniors, those on disabilities, Vets and those with VA disabilities get in the coming year.
And cry a tear. During Obama’s first year in office SSI was given a hefty 5 percent raise. THEN for the next 7 years they got NOTHING. Because it was a mistake(Obama tried to be honest and then the pacs, billionaires and those pulling his strings got their hooks in him) when in fact it was not a mistake, it was the FED reflecting on reality. They are broke.
Why the government cant agree to tax people….ONEPOINTFIVE PERCENT on their SSI contributions each week is mind boggling. (NOT EVEN 1.5 Percent on their whole check, just on their SSI contribution which is like 1.5 percent of their whole check)As if that 1.5 percent matching contribution is going to bankrupt big Tech and Big Corps or that even someone making 30k per year is going to actually miss a couple dollars a week from their paycheck.
Mind numbing. The vote to raise SSI contributions by 3 percent should pass 538-0. Instead it is never even brought up because if anyone does it becomes the next commercial against one side or the other that they want to ELIMINATE Social Security…..NO they want to make sure it stays solvent but you know how politics works. They are like frogs in a boiling pot of water.
