Doing Something about anthropogenic climate change is popular in theory. In practice? Not so much. Even in the leftist cities that came out with plans most were not interested in actually following through
Hundreds of U.S. cities adopted climate plans. Few have met the goals, but it’s not too late.
…..
Over the past three decades, more than 600 local governments across the United States adopted their own climate action plans setting greenhouse gas reduction targets. These pledges were in addition to America’s commitment to the 2015 Paris Agreement, an international treaty signed by nearly 200 nations to limit the impact of climate change.
But experts now say that many of those cities’ individual plans were aspirational at best. Now they must work harder if they’re going to curb the warming trend. (snip)
The USA TODAY Network’s findings are consistent with a study last year by the nonprofit Brookings Institution. It found just 45 of the 100 largest U.S. cities had adopted a serious climate pledge, and two-thirds of those with plans have fallen short of their targets. More than a dozen appeared to have no emissions tracking at all. (snip)
A small window of opportunity remains for local governments to get serious about curbing climate change, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report. But, to achieve any kind of major corrective action, emissions must be slashed by the end of the decade.
So the ones with all these plans that mostly did not work are supposed to be the ones to get serious? Now tell the citizens this will include lots of taxes and fees, a higher cost of living, and their movement, choice, and liberty will be drastically reduced. See how that goes. It’s all fun and games right up to the point where you actually have to jump.
So far, what’s happening in Indianapolis and the Midwest isn’t “nearly enough,†said Gabe Filippelli, executive director of the Environmental Resilience Institute at Indiana University. Cities need to make sure they’re not only carbon neutral by 2050 but carbon negative.
Let’s start by requiring all the Believers in the cities to stop using fossil fuels, no meat, live in tiny homes, 2 minute showers, can only flush twice a day. No streaming. No Internet. No ice makers. That all sounds great, right? Right?
Teach expects others to live 100% faithful to their ideogies
But does Teach? He never attends rallies to stop murder if babies and never existed to fight Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan
Plus!! I am not Eben sure he ever even bought a lifetime support of incandescentivht bulbs
“Teach expects others to live 100% faithful to their ideogies”
Teach expects no such thing and by stating he does you slander and defame the man. Teach does however, expect others not to be hypocrites.
Whether or not he “attends rallies” is not in your power to know nor does fighting mooslems have anything to do with what you and those you support do.
Teach never stated that we or anyone “attend rallies” nor did he tell others to fight anywhere. He is not a hypocrite. Everyone involved in a war is not a soldier. In fact for every soldier at the front there are thousands of support personnel. One contributes each in his own way. BUT promoting laws, rules, regulations and economic chaos while not following ones own advice is pure hypocrisy which is a nice way of saying the mother fukers are lying to us.
Why do leftists always need to lie?
Hairy claims to live in a big city and drives a truck. I bet that truck is not electric. I bet Hairy uses A/C and heat. Takes baths. Uses a dish washer, buys products from large corporations that have a co2 footprint the size of Mars.
I bet Hairy pays for a cell phone plan that gives him unlimited data so he can type with his thumbs. The internet creates billions of pounds of co2 alone.
I bet he owns a computer or cell phone which used child labor to construct.
It is no wonder Hairy and Elwood are always annoyed with the OP of this blog for calling them out for their hypocrisy. It would be very difficult to give all those things up and they have no intention of doing so.
IF (97) NINETY SEVEN PERCENT of you all agree that the world is ending then hell whats the problem? Just stop buying cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles. Stop using the internet(PLEASE) and we could end all of this. Stop eating red meat and chickens and hogs and let the rest of us do the few simple things we enjoy like eating food that is NOT……..
PACKED WITH FRUCTOSE as in hfcs or High Fructose Corn Syrup which has caused the average American to gain 25 lbs than he/she/it weighted 30 years ago.
IF YOU 97 percenters just followed your fears…..then there would be no need for Gasoline, Fuel Oil and Coal and fossil fuels of any type. There would be no need for cell phones and ambulances etc. there would be no need for Big macs and Arbys, and Chipolte’s.
IF HAIRY would just do his share the world would be saved but no, his idea of doing his share is demanding the government TAX people..Somehow a TAX will SAVE THE PLANET.
