Happy Sunday! Another gorgeous day in the Once and Future Nation Of America. The Sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I added 5 Cherry Barbs to the fishtank, which are doing well. This pinup is by Hajime Sorayama, with a wee bit of help.

   Teach is absolutely correct in supporting Covid vaccinations.

   A study just published in JAMA shows that 20-25% of Covid survivals show deficits in thinking and memory.

   Results: The mean (IQR) age of 740 participants was 49 (38-59) years, 63% (n = 464) were women, and the mean (SD) time from COVID-19 diagnosis was 7.6 (2.7) months. Participants self-identified as Black (15%), Hispanic (20%), or White (54%) or selected multiracial or other race and ethnicity (11%; other race included Asian [4.5%, n = 33)]. The most prominent deficits were in processing speed (18%, n = 133), executive functioning (16%, n = 118), phonemic fluency (15%, n = 111) and category fluency (20%, n = 148), memory encoding (24%, n = 178), and memory recall (23%, n = 170).

   So not only are anti-vaxxers more likely to die than the vaccinated, but if they survive, their already reduced intellect is further compromised.

     I have seen the movie DUNE. It was a real stinker, and I am a fan of the franchise. But the amazing thing about it is the flood of positive reviews in every magazine. It’s as if they are all being paid to write the same thing about the movie to promote it. EXACTLY like their attacks on Trump. Someone must have figured out that their media machine can be useful in more than just one thing.

     Even the financials are down and it looks like it may not even break even, but the reviewers are lock step promoting it anyway. The only thing they are promoting even more is the Chinese propaganda film about the Korean war. Spoiler: They are lock step saying it was the best also. Almost as if American media giants are really very concerned about the Chinese government liking them.

       Another DemCom conspiracy! DUNE, tRump, China and Big media!! It’s as if reviewers are being paid to promote the movie just as they were paid to criticize tRump!!! And China!!!! CHINA!!!!!

       91% of audience members gave DUNE a positive review.

       The liberal New Yorker, liberal Slate and liberal Variety all panned the movie.

       EXACTLY like their attacks on Trump. LOL.

       (AP) Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” debuted with $40.1 million in ticket sales in its opening weekend in North America, drawing a large number of moviegoers to see the thundering sci-fi epic on the big screen despite it also being available to stream in homes.

       Coming into the weekend, “Dune,” which first premiered at the Venice Film Festival in early September, had already grossed $130 million internationally. This weekend, it debuted with $21.6 million in China, where Legendary and Wanda handled distribution. Altogether, “Dune” added $47.4 million internationally for a global cumulative gross of $220.7 million.

       The gross does not include streaming receipts (DUNE co-released on HBO Max). The film was budgeted at $165 million + marketing. The studio is planning on Part II.
