Biden Plans On Approaching Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, To Pump More Oil

Let’s see: because Brandon spiked lots of new domestic production, the U.S. is buying around 600K barrels of oil from Russia, and working on a plan to get more from Iran. And now

From the link

President Biden’s advisers are discussing a possible visit to Saudi Arabia this spring to help repair relations and convince the Kingdom to pump more oil, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: A hat-in-hand trip would illustrate the gravity of the global energy crisis driven by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Biden has chastised Saudi Arabia, and the CIA believes its de facto leader, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was involved in the dismemberment of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi. (snip)

Zoom in: Bin Salman isn’t making it easier on Biden to repair their relations.

He appeared to go out of his way to aggravate the White House during an interview with the Atlantic published last week.

Between the lines: Sanctions against Russia’s oil exports — including a possible ban on importing Russian oil into the U.S. — would both elevate worldwide gas prices and stoke domestic inflation.

If this happens, the Saudi’s are going to make Joe beg. And

(CBS News) Senior American officials are in Venezuela this weekend to meet with the government of Nicolás Maduro, whose authoritarian rule of the oil-producing country has meant no formal diplomatic relations between the two countries since 2019.

News of the trip was first reported by The New York Times. That report prompted Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committees and a vocal critic of the Maduro regime, to criticize the trip.

“Joe Biden using #Russia as an excuse to do the deal they always wanted to do anyway with the #MaduroRegime,” Rubio tweeted Sunday morning. “Rather than produce more American oil he wants to replace the oil we buy from one murderous dictator with oil from another murderous dictator.”

Why don’t we just do like Rubio, and pretty much every sane thinking person, thinks, and produce our own? Oh, and remember this?

  2. Hairy says:

1 year and 11 months ago former president went to OPEC+ and asked them forvtge biggest production cut in history when the oil price went to negative 37$ they agreed to a 2 year production cut that will expire next month
Perhaps no one wants to remember that? Perhaps no one wants to know that Biden is pumping more domestic oil right now than when Trump left. Teach do you now think that just maybe it was not a great idea to cut production for 2 years? That maybe the USA and tge would should not be held hostage to countries that control fossil fuels? You say you want future nukes but you never show how much a new nuke plant will cost consumers in per kwh. We DO have new wind power contract prices pls show your nuke kwh lrices

    • L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

Hairy, on year and 11 months ago the then president had not ruined the domestic fossil fuil production, had not entangled us in a war between our current oil supplier and a corrupt Ukraine which launders money for the Bidens, and was legally elected not through stealing an election.

All Brandon needs to do is change the previous agreement by EXECUTIVE ORDER the same way he changed every single Trump initiative since Jan 20, 2021 the first being the production and distribution of domestic and Canadian oils and gas. He’s a moron and you’re a liar. If he can close the Keystone pipeline he can reopen it. If he can cancel leases he can reinstitute them and if he can stop Trumps climate moves he can stop Trump’s 2 year agreement. After all, it was nothing for him to stop offshore drilling.

So the Biden White House would rather go to Venezuela and Iran for more oil than allow American producers the chance to build out sustainable crude oil projects that would be cheaper and cleaner sources while creating jobs.
Do they hate oil or the Americans working in oil patch?

  4. Elwood P. Dowd says:

According to the Heritage Foundation’s Daily Signal:

In October 2021, LNG (liquified natural gas) exporters in the U.S. were operating beyond capacity. And the U.S. Energy Information Administration expects the U.S. will export 16% more natural gas in 2022 than last year as American companies bring on more production and export capacity.

By the end of 2022, the U.S. will have the largest LNG export capacity in the world with the completion of the Sabine Pass and Calcasieu Pass facilities in Louisiana as well as upgrades to increase production at several existing facilities.

Now, take a look at oil. In 2020—and even through the worst of the pandemic into 2021—U.S. producers of crude oil and petroleum products made the U.S. a net exporter for the first time since 1949.

The U.S. is the world’s single largest producer of crude oil, even as global demand has outpaced supply over the last year and has strained global markets. The Energy Information Administration cautiously projects crude oil production in the U.S. to continue growing to meet that demand over the next few years.

It’s hard to overstate how revolutionary the American energy boom has been since its onset in the late 2000s. In less than a decade, the U.S. went from projections of energy shortages to being the largest producer of oil and natural gas in the world.

U.S. energy providers have also filled the gap for Europe, which has been caught dangerously flat-footed and import-reliant on Russia after years of policy choices to curtail their own energy production. U.S. natural gas exports to Europe have increased since 2017, supplying 26% of Europe’s liquid natural gas in 2021 and more than half in January 2022 in response to Russia’s weaponization of energy markets.

    But they conclude:

It’s time to fight authoritarianism with energy freedom. Instead of continuing to put obstacles in its way, Biden needs to reevaluate, reprioritize, and unleash the American energy sector—for the benefit of America and the world.

So record production and exports under President Biden so far, but trouble ahead, so they say.
