Teach, neoCon and other right-wing disinformationalists were pushing the FTX-Ukraine-Dem conspiracy…
The Gateway Pundit posted a story on Nov. 12 claiming that “Tens of Billions of US Dollars Were Transferred to Ukraine and then Using FTX Crypto Currency the Funds Were Laundered Back to Democrats in US.”
Soon, the state-owned Russian news outlet Russia Today (RT) posted a story repeating the falsehood, effectively linking The Gateway Pudendum to Putin and Russian disinformation.
Then Fox News’ Jesse Watters told his roughly 2.7 million viewers that Ukraine had used U.S. aid money and “invested” in FTX as part of a “money laundering” scheme to benefit the Democrats.
Ex-president Donald Trump amplified the claim on Truth Social showing a graphic depiction of money flowing from the US to Ukraine to FTX and back to President Biden. And you guys think tRump should be president again…
Of course, none of the BS was true. The Gateway Pudendum took a couple grains of truth, that three crypto exchanges set up sites for donations to Ukraine, and that the FTX CEO had donated to Dems, to concoct the entire ridiculous BS. US funds and materiel to Ukraine were not associated with FTX. Ukraine did NOT transfer any US funds (or any funds) to FTX. Jim Hoft is a lying liar with millions of willing victims, many who comment here.
