FBI searched Biden home, found documents marked classified
The FBI searched President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware on Friday and located six additional documents containing classified markings and also took possession of some of his notes, the president’s lawyer said Saturday.
Bob Bauer, the president’s personal lawyer, said the search of the entire premises lasted nearly 13 hours. The documents taken by the FBI spanned Biden’s time in the Senate and the vice presidency, while the notes dated to his time as vice president. The level of classification, and whether they remained classified, was not immediately clear as the Justice Department reviews the records.
The search followed more than a week after Biden’s attorneys found six classified documents in the president’s home library from his time as vice president, and nearly three months after lawyers found a small number of classified records at his former offices at the Penn Biden Center in Washington. It came a day after Biden maintained that “there’s no there there” on the document discoveries, which have become a political headache for the president and complicated the Justice Department’s probe into former President Donald Trump’s retention of classified documents and official records after he left office. It remains to be seen whether additional searches by federal officials of other locations might be conducted. Biden’s personal attorneys previously conducted a search of the Rehoboth Beach residence and said they did not find any official documents or classified records.
So, with Trump, the politicized DOJ did an early morning raid with agents all decked out in body armor, carrying military grade weapons. Furiously searching, tearing apart Melania’s closet, going through her underwear drawer. Taking everything they could pick up, regardless of what it was. They made sure the Credentialed Media was present to film and broadcast it all. And to let them know quickly what the classification was. The exact opposite of what they did with Biden, who, apparently, had classified documents going back to when he was in the Senate, and would damned sure not have authorization to have them sitting around in his house, especially not with his drug addled son Hunter hanging out.

Biden tanked Jimmy Carter’s nominee for CIA over mishandled classified docs
As a senator in the 1970s, Joe Biden tanked then-President Jimmy Carter’s pick to lead the Central Intelligence Agency over the nominee’s illegal possession of classified documents.
Carter chose Ted Sorenson to serve as his CIA director in 1977.
Sorenson had admitted to taking boxes of classified records home with him after leaving the White House in 1964, and using the materials for his work in writing a biography of former President John F. Kennedy. Sorenson’s admission to this came in affidavits used in cases involving the Pentagon Papers.
At the time, Biden considered the affidavit and joined with Republicans to block Sorenson from being confirmed by the Senate. Biden also suggested Sorenson may have violated the Espionage Act.
So, by Biden’s own suggestion, he could be charged with violating the Espionage Act.

Anyway, President Biden cooperated, ex-prez Trump did not. That’s the difference. Trump has pocketed subpoenas, filed suit after suit, moved materials, and delayed in every way possible. But that’s Trump.
Donald Trump broke the law! Joe Biden broke the law! Neither exercised the proper and legal care of classified documents! Mr Trump compounded the problem by obstructing the retrieval of classified government documents and the subsequent investigation. Why? Because Trump is Trump. Put both Biden and Trump in prison for 10 years.
Clearly, the US of A has a horribly broken system for handling classified documents.
If Mr Trump had cooperated and returned the documents when requested there would have been no raid and search. Mr Trump claimed the documents were his, not the government’s.
Timeline…
In May 2021, an official from National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), lawyer Gary Stern, contacted Trump’s team after finding important documents weren’t returned to NARA before Trump left the White House. Stern reached out to someone who served in the White House counsel’s office under Trump, who was the point of contact for recordkeeping matters.
With no progress on the requests, in the fall 2021 Stern, reached out to another Trump attorney to intervene. The archivist asked about several boxes of records that were apparently taken to Mar-a-Lago during Trump’s relocation to Florida. NARA did not receive the White House documents.
In Jan 2022, after months of discussions with Trump’s team, NARA retrieved 15 boxes of Trump White House records from Mar-a-Lago.
In Feb 2022, NARA informed the DOJ that some of the documents retrieved from Mar-a-Lago included classified material. NARA also tells the DOJ that, despite being warned it was illegal, Trump destroyed documents while he was president.
In April 2022, Ex-pres Trump attempted to block DOJ access to the 15 boxes of NARA materials previously retrieved from Mar-a-Lago claiming executive or lawyer-client privilege.
In May 2022, Debra Steidel Wall, the acting Archivist of the United States, who runs NARA, informs Trump’s lawyers that she is rejecting their claims of “protective” executive privilege over all the materials retrieved from Mar-a-Lago.
On May 11, 2022, the DOJ subpoenaed Trump, seeking documents with classification markings that are still at Mar-a-Lago.
On June 2, 2022, according to a lawsuit ex-president Trump later filed, Trump invited FBI officials to come to Mar-a-Lago to retrieve the subpoenaed materials.
On June 3, 2022, four investigators visit Mar-a-Lago seeking more information about classified material. The four investigators meet with Trump’s attorneys and look around the basement room where the documents are being stored and take away the subpoenaed documents. Later in June, a Trump lawyer sent a letter to the DOJ asserting that there aren’t any more classified documents.
On June 8, 2022 Trump’s attorneys received a letter from federal investigators, asking them to further secure the room where documents are being stored. In response, Trump aides add a padlock to the room.
On June 24, 2022 investigators serve a subpoena to the Trump Organization, demanding surveillance video from Mar-a-Lago. Trump’s company complied with the subpoena and turns over the footage. Walt Nauta, a White House valet and personal aide to Trump at Mar-a-Lago, was recorded on security cameras moving boxes from a Mar-a-Lago storage room into Trump’s private residence and said that it was done at Trump’s request after the subpoena was served.
On August 8, 2022 the FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago, focused on the area of the club where Trump’s offices and personal quarters are located. Federal agents removed boxes of material from the property.
On August 22, 2022 Trump filed a federal lawsuit seeking the appointment of a third-party attorney known as a “special master” to independently review the materials that the FBI seized from Mar-a-Lago.
On September 5, 2022, Trump-appointed judge, the Hon Aileen Cannon, granted Trump’s request for a special master empowered to evaluate the approximately 13,000 materials taken from Mar-a-Lago including roughly 100 documents with classification markings for “privilege” concerned.
In Nov 2022, a panel of judges on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Thursday to overturn the appointment of a special master.
Trump’s attorneys appealed that ruling to the Supreme Court, which declined to take up the matter.
Following that ruling, the DOJ moved for an expedited appeal to have the 11th Circuit end Dearie’s review in its entirety — arguing that the government’s inability to access the roughly 13,000 remaining non-classified documents seized from Mar-a-Lago was hampering their investigation.
In Nov 2022, AG Garland appointed a special counsel, Jack Smith, to oversee the Mar-a-Lago investigation.

How quaint that someone would invite the FBI to search their premises.
Our ex-, Mr Trump, could have received the same treatment if he had just cooperated and returned the hundreds of classified documents he took from the White House. But no, he had to fight, and couldn’t pay off the FBI. He likely is hiding more documents. Mr Trump has had 2 years to make it right but has wasted millions of gov’t dollars, the court’s time and American’s sanity, either as a 2024 campaign ploy or because he can’t get the docs back from Putin, Xi or Kim. But that’s Trump; always scheming. He does a lot of dumb stuff. Classic shooting himself in the foot.
