So much so, the IG plans to inspect Pete’s use of private jets
The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) internal watchdog is opening an audit into Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg over his extensive use of private jets, the agency confirmed to Fox News Digital on Monday.
The DOT Inspector General investigation comes roughly two months following a Fox News Digital report that showed Buttigieg, who has repeatedly argued in favor of aggressive action to combat climate change, has taken at least 18 flights using taxpayer-funded private jets since taking office in early 2021. Flight records reviewed by Fox News Digital aligned with Buttigieg’s internal calendar obtained at the time by government watchdog group Americans for Public Trust (APT).
“After Americans for Public Trust helped determine Secretary Buttigieg’s excessive use of taxpayer-funded government jets, we are pleased to see that his air travel is now under investigation,” APT executive director Caitlin Sutherland told Fox News Digital on Monday.
“Everyday Americans have faced unprecedented flight cancelations and disruptions, but Buttigieg has continued to fly private, even on a Coast Guard plane and even when commercial options were readily available.” (snip through a bunch of examples)
The transportation secretary also took a military aircraft to attend the Fifth Invictus Games in Europe with his husband Chasten Buttigieg in April 2022. And, that same month, Buttigieg jetted off to New York City on one of the government planes for a radio interview and two brief meetings before returning hours later.
On another occassion, he flew on a government jet to Canada for an aviation conference, and to attend an LGBT conference. Pete responded
Glad this will be reviewed independently so misleading narratives can be put to rest.
Bottom line: I mostly fly on commercial flights, in economy class. And when I do use our agency’s aircraft, it’s usually a situation where doing so saves taxpayer money. https://t.co/wUtBtjx9CT

Which seems to be not so. Further, why is Pete flying at all? He keeps yammering about how bad having a carbon footprint is and how great trains, buses, and other public transportation are. Why doesn’t he take those wonderful trains? It was almost a year ago that he was yammering about how awesome it was that the infrastructure bill had $4.5 billion for trains and buses and how public transportation was the solution to the climate crisis (scam). And wanted laws about it.
Glad this will be reviewed independently so misleading narratives can be put to rest.
The DoT IG works for the Trans sec. There is no possibility of this being an independent review. For real independence, they would need a non-partisan group to investigate. certainly not any of the government IGs since the entire federal government has been proven to lean heavy Democrat.
IGs are independent except under Republicun rule (see more below!).
Repubicuns have a documented history of firing IGs and appointing ‘friendlies’.
A previous acting DOT IG, Mitch Behm, was removed by Donald J Trump and replaced by Howard Eliott, the new acting DOT IG. The DOT IG was inspecting DOT Secretary Elaine Chao.
The same night of the DOT IG shake-up, Trump said he would be firing State Department IG Steve Linick whose office was investigating Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
If an IG is a partisan hack he should be fired and banned from any future government job. We realize that all nuDemocommie IG’s and AG’s etc are pure as the driven snow and any appointed by Republicans or any other non extreme leftist politician are tainted and corrupt.
The phony “investigation” of Pompeo was just a nuDemocommie lawfare attempt at a successful Republican patriot they couldn’t get on anything else. Comon man. Using gov to preach political partisanship? Really? The nuDemocommies invented doing that.
We see now the demofascists are “rewriting” Western classics to “modernize” the words to fall in line with “woke” bullshit. But we ban books? Blow me.
I never hear anybody saying ‘diversity is our strength’ anymore. I used to hear it all the time in the 90s (when the GR was just getting ramped up). It could be that I’m not exposed to the media where it’s being said, but I wasn’t all that plugged into the media back then either. The thing about the MSM, it’s so ubiquitous that its message tends to get to you whether you are a consumer of it or not. But I digress.
So maybe they felt that message had been accepted, and they didn’t need to push it anymore. There is some evidence of this. I’ve encountered young people saying they wanted to live somewhere more “diverse,” saying that they didn’t want to live in this place over here because it wasn’t “diverse” enough. How can people be so monumentally stupid?
But I tend to believe not that many people are buying it anymore. Now that diversity has been achieved, and we can all see the results, even the left is unable to pretend that it has improved anything. So the messaging has switched from “diversity is our strength” to “white man bad.” Since diversity has failed to produce utopia, it must be his fault. Because who else’s fault could it be?
Donald Trump appointed the current DOT IG who is investigating DOT Secretary Buttigieg. Do you feel/believe that Mr Trump appointed a Democratic partisan hack who will go easy on Buttigieg??
Maybe you’re right. Maybe it’s time to deport all people of colour or put them on reservations like our forefathers did the indigenous peoples. Seriously, Wyoming is seriously underpopulated and won’t be as cold as in the past. That would leave the rest of America for the patriots to rebuild. It shouldn’t be difficult to get a majority of Repubicuns to go along with that.
Our distinguished host concluded:
The answer is simple: he’s just too f(ornicating) important to have to wait on a commercial airline flight if it’s not exactly what he wants, when he wants.
But Mr Teach’s question kind of misses the point; the real question is: why does he have to travel at all? We have had videoconferencing technology for over two decades now, and while yeah, he had to show up in East Palestine, late though his visit was, just how many of those other trips were really necessary?
Some travel is required of officials.
We think Governor Dewine of Ohio should load the train derailment debris onto buses and send to the governors of Florida and Texas!
“We” are dumbfucks who don’t think at all.
Kinda like Brandon and Lumpy.
