In every residential building code every other gas appliance ( boiler,furnace,fireplace, water heater) must be vented to the outside because of the danger of toxic gas production.

It’s also true that furnaces burn a lot more gas, and furnaces and water heaters come on automatically, including when people are asleep. Gas ranges are only used when someone is awake and cooking, and are used far, far less than furnaces.
