Mr Biden has also reiterated his call for Americans to wear a mask for 100 days – a measure that he said combined with vaccine distribution would see deaths “drop off the edge”.
“My hope is they will then be inclined to say it’s worth the patriotic duty to go ahead and protect other people,” Mr Biden said.
100 days, eh? Went on for quite a bit longer than that, and, now, years beyond the danger zone of COVID, when more people died despite the availability of the vaccines and forced masking during Biden’s first year. And he made vaccination mandatory for federal employees and everyone who worked with the federal government

President Biden said Friday he plans to request additional funding from Congress for the development of a new COVID-19 vaccine, adding he may require everyone to take it whether they previously received a vaccine or not.
Biden, who is vacationing in the Lake Tahoe area, was asked by a reporter on Friday if he could say anything about the uptick of COVID cases and a new variant.
“Yes, I can,” the president said. “I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works.”
He added, “Tentatively it is recommended that it will likely be recommended everybody get it no matter whether they’ve gotten it before or not.”
Will he make it mandatory again, despite courts crushing vaccine mandates, at both the federal and state levels? How many excellent members of our military did we lose over this, who decided not to come back after they won in court? Will the vaccines actually provide protection against getting COVID this time, or, will we simply be gaslighted like last time? There are a whopping 12,613 hospital admissions related to COVID, and, based on previous gaslighting, not all of them were because they had COVID, but, for something else while having COVID. Remember how Biden said he’d shut down COVID? How’s that working out? Rather hard to do when you barely spend 30 hours a week working and a 3rd of your presidency on vacation.
Most are not going to buy into this fearmongering. Even lots of Biden voters will not comply. They won’t mask up and won’t bother with a barely functional shot. Also, let’s say Congress does authorize funding: how long will that take? And how much money for other things, like Ukraine, will Biden demand in order to sign it?

Even if you believe with all your honest heart that the COVID vax is safe and effective, there is absolutely zero reason to give it to young and healthy people (everyone under 50) since they have a near zero risk of adverse effects. Anyone who says otherwise is an advocate for Pfizer, not a health care professional.

Spreading additional risk to otherwise healthy people so that old sick people don’t get sicker is immoral. There are other ways to protect grandma besides inflicting unknown life changing risks on children. Any grandmother who would make this trade on her own grandchildren is selfish and immoral, thus, any older person who would demand this on someone else’s grandchildren is equally immoral.
If the shot worked, we wouldn’t be having this discussion because granny could take the shot and be protected.
Virtue comes from older people sacrificing to save younger, not the other way around. Boomers ruin everything.

Pardon me but I didn’t note it here, but have otherwise and places, that I am not for vaccinations or masks for children. I would not recommend either for children. Children are too young to make an informed decision and knowingly accept what is a very very small risk.
For adults, I would urge vaccinations and masks if it jumps up again. But mandates? NO. Shut down? NO
So it really is a moral question. Am I my brother’s keeper? Should I do something that I don’t need to survive but may carry a small personal risk in helping my elders and those of all ages who are immune compromised or otherwise deficient in obtaining the vaccine for whatever reason?
Once again, when it comes to public health, Mr Lewis is correct.

I thank you but I will say that among our many differences is that I would resist any federal, which would be illegal, or state, which could be legal, mandates.
The use of a dubious vaccine to keep others from transmitting a disease when the vaccine could cause injury is beyond reprehensible. If you voluntarily decide after review of fact and discussing the issue with your physician then you are following the tried and true methods we have always used. I seriously doubt that an honest study could link cause and effect in using a vaccine to prevent illness in high risk individuals. If a group of individuals has little risk of problems from an illness, then there is no reason to cause them to face risk from a medication.
The Federal government has turned medical delivery upside down in its efforts to terrify our population. Certainly older individuals and those with metabolic inflammation need to personally take precautions. But government does not have the authority to compel you to take a medication that you feel might be a hazard.

Actually it has been thoroughly demonstrated that the vaccine greatly reduces symptoms thus reducing hospital admissions and deaths of those needing further treatment.

When all are vaccinated the rate of transmission is lower. China which still does not have an effective vaccine and their death rate is much higher than in the USA
According to the peer reviewed study done by Yale after the vaccine was widely available approximately 3 times as many registered
republicans died as democrats.
This may/may not have an impact on elections in the future.

Carbon boy-what difference would those registered one way or another make? The metric to be used would be those vaccinated vs those unvaccinated. If he vaccine worked, it would work statistically the same on registered Republicans the same as registered Democrats. If it had little to no effect, the results would be statistically the same on those registered as Republicans vs those registered as Democrats.

Re the news “article” about KF94 masks and VOCs:
1.As discussed previously, the NIH database on published articles (PubMed) is the National Library of Medicine compilation of published articles, not only articles published by and from the NIH. Some media types like to add “published by NIH” to make the articles appear to “originate”, be “validated” by or “approved” by the NIH. That’s just not true.
2.The actual article did not address N95 or KN95 masks routinely used in the US.
3.I’ve contacted the author (Joshu) of the DailyMail article to discuss. (We’re both from the Missouri Ozarks!!)

Such studies always lack controls to insure accuracy.
The use of FL, with its large retired/elderly population who are mostly Republican puts the study into question.
i.e. Covid is a disease that kills more elderly, vaccinated or not. e.g. In TN over 30% of the 70+ age group who caught the disease, died. And remember. The effectiveness of the vaccine was in the 85-90% range so somewhere around 10-15% so vaccination may or may not have worked.
To be anywhere near meaningful such studies must be of huge population groups. States are way too small to prove anything.

Funny-what I said was that if you look at the vaccinated, whether they be D or R, the death rate should be the same. Same with the unvaccinated—the death rate should be the same, D or R. That is true. That’s why I said the metric to use would be vaccinated vs unvaccinated, which is also true.

OTOH, the 10th Amendment tasks the states to writes their own laws and every state has laws that allows mandatory vaccination..
