Shooting At UNC Chapel Hill: Police Not Identifying Suspect, Can’t Find Gun

I have yet to run across any article that notes one very important piece of information. And possibly a second

(CNN) A suspect is in custody but police still are looking for the weapon and the motive behind the fatal shooting of a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Monday afternoon.

Neither the victim nor the assailant has been identified after the early afternoon shooting sent the university with more than 30,000 students into lockdown for hours. The suspect was detained about 90 minutes after the gunfire interrupted activities at the school’s Caudill Laboratories, a chemistry studies building.

“We want to ensure that we gather every piece of evidence to determine exactly what happened here today and why it happened,” UNC Police Chief Brian James said at a news conference Monday evening. “It is too early in this investigation to know a motive for the shooting.”

Detectives won’t get clues into the motive until they speak with the suspect, he added.

I wonder if we’ll find out the motive if it is Inconvenient

Investigators have not found the firearm that was used in the shooting and it’s not known whether it was legally obtained, James said.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after 2:30 p.m., Guskiewicz said. The university continued in lockdown for a couple hours after the suspect was detained because authorities were working to confirm they had the right person and trying to find the firearm that was used, James told reporters.

The first piece of important information is that it is against North Carolina law for anyone except authorized law enforcement to carry a firearm on any school property, or even within proximity to a school

The shooter was already breaking two laws, murder and carrying a firearm on school grounds. What common sense gun laws would stop that? And then (below more tag)

We need to wait for the full information, but, is he an American citizen, or a foreigner, probably Chinese? The colleges in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area get a lot of Chinese students, and, if that’s the case, it is against NC and federal law for anyone who isn’t a citizen to purchase/carry a firearm. There are a few exceptions for hunting rifles while hunting, but, that’s rare. Heck, you cannot purchase a firearm in NC if you are visiting from another state.

What “common sense gun reform” would stop this?

The answer to that is the complete banning of all firearms in the hands of civilians and only arming government officials. Plus the confiscation of all legally owned firearms. Illegally owned firearms will of course remain in the hands of criminals.

Otherwise known as the police state.

We have reached the point in the United states where the demo commies are making their move for total domination. If you can’t see that then you’re part of the problem. Once again the demo commies and the entire left in the United states are running in complete total unison. All you need to do is look at the different stations on the news they’re reading off the same script. Again if you can’t see and identify brainwashing then you’re part of the problem.

That does not compute. Of all advanced nations, the United States of America has the highest prisoner per capita rate AND the highest homicide rate.

Maybe Americans are just more violent!

        • Brother John says:

More importantly, it has the highest diversity quotient. If you’re prepared to ignore that, intelligent conversations about crime in the USA are outside your grade level.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Are you really claiming the United States of American has the highest diversity?

Don’t act cute. Make your argument. Unless it embarrasses you.

    Connies gotta whine about something…

Tailei Qi, 34, shot and killed the laboratory head, Dr. Zijie Yan inside a science building on the Chapel Hill campus. Sounds like a personal dispute, doesn’t it?

Can someone supply the Jacksonville shooter’s “released” manifesto that Libs on TikTok talked about?

(CNN) The gunman, identified as 21-year-old Ryan Christopher Palmeter, left racist writings and used racial slurs before launching the attack Saturday and then killing himself, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said.

The families of the victims in the Nashville school shooting are fighting the release of the killer’s writings.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — In Tennessee, a request for police to release a school shooter’s private writings has morphed into a complex multiparty fight that pits the parents of traumatized students against a coalition of local news outlets, nonprofits, and a Republican lawmaker — with both sides claiming their position is in the public interest.

The person who killed three 9-year-old children and three adults at a private Christian elementary school in Nashville on March 27 left behind at least 20 journals, a suicide note and a memoir, according to court filings. But there is no national standard governing if, or how, such writings are made public.

Here’s a discussion of the fringe right’s dealings with mass shootings…

Well we already know how the fringe left deals with mass shootings, they try and pass laws that take guns away from everybody except criminals. They never wanna take guns away from criminals just law abiding citizens.

And they never seem to realize that the guns don’t commit a crime they’re inanimate objects. People commit the crimes. Now if we executed every SOB murderer that would certainly cut down on recidivism.

As usual we allow them to define the situation. You know like a riot becomes an insurrection. Or murder by a guy becomes “gun crime”. Like the gun jumped up and ran around and killed everybody.

If you look closely at Tailei Qi’s biography, you’ll see that he has his ‘pronouns’ listed. Perhaps UNC requires that on all student bios these days, but we know that anyone who voluntarily specifies his pronouns is just plain stupid.

Of course, as Chinese, his name would actually be Qi Tailei, as the family name comes first, and he could have been protesting the bastardization of his name by American culture.

Yeah, that’s got to be it!

  4. Brother John says:

The only possible explanation for the refusal to release the “manifesto” left behind by the “trans” shooter in Nashville is that it says, in whole or in part, “LOOK WHAT YOU MONSTERS DID TO ME.”

One of us wonders how these things — the mentally deranged shooter’s ‘manifesto’ and Ghislaine Maxwell’s records — have not been leaked yet. It’s reached the point where some media organization would pay a lot of euros for them.

      • Brother John says:

First of all, you halfwit, I did not type anything of the kind. YOU did.

Secondly, local officials are calling it “astronomically dangerous.”

Third, quoting the AP does nothing for your credibility; but leaving that aside, there isn’t any reason enough of it without compromising the security or privacy of individuals hasn’t been released.

Fourth, the only reason to NOT release it — or at least, enough to satiate the rumors, which would be intelligent in a time of zero public trust — is because it contravenes official narratives, just as I said.

Do you ever get tired of looking so repetitive and stupid?

Sooo… right-wing extremists “believe” the left wing media is hiding or releasing “manifestos” based on politics. LOL. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif

Makes since if you DON’T think about it. Like most right-wing extremist “beliefs”. https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif
