Giant California Waves Finally Blamed On ‘Climate Change’

Did you read about those huge waves that have been hitting California since the last few days of 2023?

Seriously, there are some wild videos out there, and I watched some of this on the webcams (Swellmagnet and Webcamtaxi are great sources). Did you know that this is your fault?

Huge waves are crashing on the California coast, in part due to climate change

JUANA SUMMERS, HOST: Giant waves are crashing along the California coast for the second time in two weeks thanks to stormy weather and high sea levels due in part to human-caused climate change. Tides are lower this week, so the waves are smaller, but they’re still forecast to get as high as 20 feet through the weekend. That is thrilling for surfers, but, as member station KQED climate reporter Ezra David Romero explains, all these waves are also eroding the state’s beaches.

EZRA DAVID ROMERO, BYLINE: When big waves happen, pro surfers drop everything and flock to them. On December 28, pro surfer Bianca Valenti caught the biggest wave of her life at Mavericks Beach, about an hour south of San Francisco. Forecasters had projected waves over 40 feet tall, but Valenti says this was bigger. (big snip)

ROMERO: Last week’s giant waves resulted from a few things – high tides, a storm giving them extra speed from the Gulf of Alaska and higher seas due to climate change and the climate pattern El Nino.

GARY GRIGGS: Waves are getting bigger.

ROMERO: UC Santa Cruz oceanographer Gary Griggs has studied the California coastline for decades. He says that human-caused climate change will force seas to rise in the future, making waves even bigger. A Scripps Institution of Oceanography study from last summer found that California waves have grown, on average, a foot taller in the last 50 years as climate change has heated up the planet.

GRIGGS: All the indications are that the water is going to continue to warm. It’s going to drive stronger winds, probably higher-intensity storms, greater wave power, bigger waves hitting more often.

Things are always happening with the weather and Earth systems, no need to assign witchcraft. But, let’s say that this is happening because it is a Holocene warm period: that doesn’t mean it is mostly/solely Mankind’s fault, just that the climate on Earth changes. In the doomsday cult word, this is all your fault.

Well now all the surfers are going to be in favor of global climate change. Just one more good thing.

Christianists are usually blaming disasters on the sins that Americans commit. Teach fo you think Gid did this to California ?

    • Genocide Joe the commie says:

They are not “Christianists” you ignorant fool, just Christians. Are muslims called muslimists?

Reach deep down into that soul full of bile and see if you could find another way to insult people. Do you know anybody that blames disasters on the sins America commits? I don’t I know hell of a lot more christianists than you do.

You even fools all sound alike. Hell, Elwood could write your comments for you that’s how dumb you sound.

You are either lying or a dolt. You choose. I think there are many conservative Christians who believe their God works to punish their enemies.

About 9/11 the televangelist Jerry Falwell said the attack occurred because of pagans, abortionists, feminists, “the gays and the lesbians” and the ACLU.

Regarding Hurrican Katrina, pastor John Hagee said “I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they were recipients of the judgment of God for that.” To his credit Hagee later retracted that statement.

In 2006, Pat Robertson predicted that in America, there will be “earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados — volcanic eruptions. The coasts will be lashed by storms and disasters and, yet, this still isn’t the big one. Bigger ones are even coming.

Buster Wilson of the American Family Association claimed God sent Hurricane Isaac to stop an annual LGBT festival; the Rev. Franklin Graham blamed Hurricane Katrina on ‘orgies’; and Catholic priest Gerhard Wagner called Katrina ‘divine retribution’ for New Orleans’ tolerance of homosexuality.”

Christian radio host Rick Wiles blamed hurricane Harvey on Houston’s “affinity for the sexual perversion movement.”

Said pastor Kevin Swanson on his radio show, “I think that the entire state of Texas and the entire United States of America needs to take note of this, and realize that there is a God in heaven. He brings his judgments and he calls nations to repentance, as he is doing right now.”

Swanson said hurricane Harvey was, among other things, punishment for Texas failing to pass its “bathroom bill,” which would have restricted transgender people’s access to public restrooms.
“Unless you repent, you will likewise perish, and repairing your houses in Houston after a hurricane is useless if you’re just going to go to hell.”

“Isn’t it amazing? Katrina slammed New Orleans — we know about voodoo and the darkness in New Orleans,” he said. “Then it moved right down the coast to Houston, Texas . . . Boom, here it comes, now it’s underwater. Water is a sign of judgment and cleansing. Is now not the time for the voice of the church to rise up and declare, ‘Let’s stop killing the babies!'”

Regarding Hurricane Harvey, televangelist Jim Bakker declared “This flood is from God,” punishment for the former mayor of Houston attempting to subpoena ministers’ sermons.

Pastor Rick Joyner said these huge storms don’t “happen by accident.”

And Dave Daubenmire, “America’s Most Christian Football Coach” blamed hurricane Harvey on the former lesbian mayor of Houston — and abortion. (Annise Danette Parker was mayor of Houston for six years, starting in 2010.) He continued: “How’s it working out for them right now?” Daubenmire asked of Houston residents. “Here’s a city that has boasted of its LGBT devotion, it’s affinity for the sexual perversion movement in America. They’re underwater.”

Do YOU believe your God kills innocent Americans to stop abortion? Or gays? Do you believe that your God is behind the “Gore Effect”, LOL?

        God works in mysterious ways!

        • Genocide Joe the commie says:

So… you don’t actually know anybody that blames disasters on the sins of America. You can point your finger at people who you believe do but you don’t know any personally.

Like most of the BS you post here it’s just what other people have told you about or what you have read on the Internet which is always the truth because you have no personal experience at it. We thank you.

Now if I made the claim like that you would be demanding proof. But we understand what you’re like so we accept it.

Do YOU believe your God kills innocent Americans to stop abortion?

What innocent Americans are killed to stop abortion? But I do believe people like you are supporting killing innocent babies. And you do it so you don’t have to take care of your responsibilities as fathers.

Or gays? Do you believe that your God is behind the “Gore Effect”, LOL?

what innocent gays are being killed? I don’t know what the gore effect is and I couldn’t care less but if it’s got his poison brain attached to it it must be garbage. LOL!

            Geno the Commie,

You are correct to the extent that although I know many, many Christians I have few associations with far-right Christians.

On the other hand, uber popular Christian leaders such as Graham, Falwell(s), Baker, Robertson, Hagee, Wagner etc have huuuge audiences that listen to and believe their mythological propaganda. So no doubt there are millions of Americans who will repeat what they’ve heard.

I am gratified that on this forum, at least, no one appears to believe that God indiscriminately punishes populations for the sins of the few.

I believe that because God doesn’t need to do what we are doing for ourselves.
