Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has called for a federal crackdown on Zyn nicotine pouches, eliciting strong backlash in return.
The Democrat lawmaker recently issued a “warning to parents” and said young people are getting hooked on the nicotine pouches from social media, CBS New York reported on Sunday.
“It’s a pouch packed with problems – high levels of nicotine,” Schumer said at a press conference. “So today, I’m delivering a warning to parents because these nicotine pouches seem to lock their sites on young kids, teenagers and even lower. And then use the social media to hook them.”
The local outlet reported Schumer is urging the Federal Trade Commission and Food and Drug Administration to investigate Zyn “for concerns relating to marketing and health effects.”
Chuckles is concerned that how Zyn markets is enticing kids. You know, the same kids that are seeing all this advertising and all these THC and similar products everywhere, including the state of New York, where “cannabis” is legal. Should kids be using nicotine pouches? Probably not, same way they shouldn’t be vaping. Probably a lot better than smoking, and certainly a whole lot better than alcohol. Most of those pouches have multiple levels of nicotine. I tend to get the lowest levels. I do not gen Zyn much, because they’re a little more expensive than others and only have 15 pouches. I tend to get On, which isn’t as good, but, you get 20 for less. Velo is good. Do not care for Rogue, they are too thick. It keeps me from smoking much (I don’t want to quit, my only vice. I rarely drink, do not do drugs), and they do not contain all those extra chemicals like cigarettes. Which kids get. Oh, and they get other things

Kids of all ages are dying from fentanyl, some who take it on purpose, some by accident. Even toddlers are dying from it. But, let’s worry about Zyn.
It’s good that Schumer has a hobby since he can’t be bothered to accomplish government business.
Biden and the Democrat party trying to take more of your freedoms away!! First they tried to take away your right to catch Covid. Now they want your nicotine and menthol!!
Note too, that as a legal precedent America required a friggin’ Constitutional Amendment (18th) to ban alcohol, but now the Democrat party “bans” or takes away our freedoms on a whim!!!
Americans have the Constitutional right to take drugs. The “nanny” state has no Constitutional right to limit your access heroin, nicotine, fentanyl, cocaine, tetrahydrocannabinol, benzodiazepines, or barbiturates. It was Democrat bigotry against heroin that led to the invention of fentanyl!!! What do you bet that the Biden Crime Family gets a cut from the Chinese fentanyl industry?!?
Although tobacco use is on the decline in the US (only 12% now smoke!), according to the CDC, 480,000 Americans still die from the effects of smoking each year. BFD!! It’s bad enough that the government discriminates against children with age restrictions on cigarettes – now they want to regulate harmless nicotine??
It’s time to end the Dems, FDA, FTC, CDC and NIH, who spend all their time making Americans feel bad about their freedoms. Drug manufacturers and jobs suffer from restrictions on harmless nicotine pouches and nicotine vape products.
First “they” came for your cigarettes, but I didn’t smoke so I said nothing. Then “they” came for fruit flavored vaping, but I didn’t use fruit flavored vape products so I said nothing. Now “they” are coming for nicotine delivery pouches and menthol, but I don’t use nicotine pouches so I say nothing. Next “they” will come for diet coke, and there will be no one left to defend us.
Senate Majority Leader Schumer is hamstrung accomplishing government business by Big Donnie’s absolute control (for now) over the House.
Nicotine is the most addictive substance on the planet. The numbers alone are solid proof.
In Cuba, tobacco is not banned.
In America, tobacco is a commercial crop. Winstons, Lucky Strike, Camel, Chesterfield, Bugler, hey, smoke ’em if you got ’em.
In China, tobacco roads are everywhere you go. 2.5 million acres are tobacco acreage in China. Chinese smoke like fiends.
Tobacco is like oil, a fungible product worldwide.
Even Canadians smoke tobacco.
Native Americans did too!
