Your Fault: Earth Is Maybe Spinning Faster Or Slower From Climate Crisis (scam)

I warned you. I did. Many times. You didn’t listen

Human-driven climate change has ‘slowed the Earth’s rotation’ and could affect how we measure time, study suggests

The melting of polar ice due to human-driven climate change has slightly slowed the Earth’s rotation – and it could affect how we measure time, according to a study.

Although the disappearance of the ice has reduced the speed of the planet’s rotation, the Earth is still spinning a bit faster than it used to.

The overall increase in speed means that for the first time in history, world timekeepers may have to consider subtracting a second from our clocks.

This means clocks may have to skip a second – called a “negative leap second” – around 2029 to keep universal time in sync with the Earth’s rotation, according to the study published in the Nature journal.

Suggests isn’t exactly a scientific measurement. It either has or hasn’t. May have to consider. May have to skip a second. Does it or does it not? Perhaps it would have been better to wait for all the facts before rushing to publish this cult propaganda.

As far as the speed, what made the Earth speed up in the first place? And why is it simply your fault that it might slow a bit? Do we have any scientific comparisons with previous Holocene warm periods, as well as what happened during Holocene cool periods? That’s science.

The only clock that isn’t slowing down is the deadline to submit something for print. The only thing Journalists learn in journalism school is how to make something up every week so they can get their grade. It’s the only skill they need as professionals to get paid.

Mr Teach again is offended by the word “suggests”. This is because he doesn’t understand the basics of scientific inquiry. Recall that scientific theories are not proven. Therefore, any “bit” of scientific evidence does not prove “It either has or hasn’t”. Scientists must be much more careful in their language than lying bloggers and propagandists.

    Mr Teach asks:

As far as the speed, what made the Earth speed up in the first place?

Physics! Watch a figure skater go from a camel spin to an upright spin where angular momentum is constant – as the radius decreases the velocity must increase!! It’s a fact that Earth’s poles are losing ice, and the liquid water redistributes to the oceans. ! Mr Teach argues that the melting poles are just part of a natural cycle, but whines that the “they” cult says it’s “all your fault” because of CO2.

from part of the article Mr Teach left out:

This has slowed down the Earth’s rotation as less solid ice at the northern and southern areas of the planet means there is more mass around the equator, the study suggests.

It’s impressive that scientists can measure 1 second intervals in the length of a “day”!

I’d like to see the math on this notion… or at least some computer models. The physics of angular momentum is well understood, making models more believable than the climate cult ones. Anyway, from space the Earth looks 70% ocean, but deep as they are, the oceans are shallow compared to the solid Earth underneath. So most of the angular momentum is going to be in the solid Earth itself. Would the oceans make a measurable difference? Would there be other effects? Seems like inertial would make the Earth slower to speed up than the oceans, so you’d expect the ocean levels to rise along the west coasts. Or would the daily tides make that hard to detect? I dunno… but there’s a paper in there. :-)
