In 2023 Starbucks made 24 billion in profits. If Starbucks had given each of its 388000 workers an 11000$ pay raise it would have cost them 4 billion, reducing the company profit down to 20 billion.

You and I are both right! The US President doesn’t control the stock market. But it was Donald Trump, not I, who said President Biden would cause the stock market to collapse. I merely pointed out that Mr Trump was way, way wrong. It was Mr Trump who claimed that just the thought of him in the White House causes a rise in the stock market, which is an untestable boast, a Trump specialty.
