Debate-watchers in the Biden and Trump camps seem to agree on something. Biden had a bad night

That gasp, from patrons at a Chicago bar when President Joe Biden first stumbled verbally in his debate with Donald Trump, spoke for a lot of Americans on Thursday night.
In watch parties, bars, a bowling alley and other venues where people across the country gathered to tune in, Trump supporters, happily, and Biden supporters, in their angst if not dread, seemed to largely agree they had witnessed a lopsided showdown.
By the end of the 90-plus minutes, some Democrats were saying what partisans say to put the best face on things: It’s still early. One debate doesn’t necessarily sway the nation. Judge him by what he’s done and wants to do, not by how he says things.
But many were let down.
Biden “just didn’t have the spark that we needed tonight,” Rosemarie DeAngelus, a Democrat from South Portland, Maine, said from her watch party at Broadway Bowl. Trump, she said, showed “more spunk or more vigor” even if, in her view, he was telling a pack of lies.
Trump was his normal Trump self while Biden mostly looked lost. In honesty, I only watched about 3 minutes, and for most of that time he appeared as if he had no idea where he was, with a few maniacal smiles here and there. It’s never good in a debate to have negative looks. Remember Gore stalking around the debate area, making all sorts of noises? At one point Bush looked up like “why are you near me?” It was a bad look. This was disastrous.
Of course, Joe’s handlers tried to say that he had a cold. Nixon had the flu. Those who watched on TV said he lost to Kennedy. Those who listened on radio said Nixon one. Joe’s answers were so bad that no one listening would make any mistake that Biden lost and sounded lost.
Among them, Vance Gonzales, 40, a moderate Democrat, said the debate convinced him that “we need another Democratic candidate, to be honest, because this is not competitive.” He said of Biden: “He’s not on point with anything. I think it’s disappointing.”
As you peruse the news outlets you see a lot of that. Biden’s lost, and need to be replaced. At one point we got this

(AL.com) In one of the debate’s early moments, Biden stumbled toward the end of a response on why voters should trust him to solve the country’s immigration crisis:
“I’ve changed [immigration law] in a way that now you’re in a situation where they’re 40% fewer people coming across the border illegally, especially when [Trump] left office. And I’m going to continue to move until we get the total ban on the total initiative relative to what we can do more border patrol and more asylum officers,” Biden said.
In response, Trump said: “I don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said either.”
And Joe’s look while Trump was responding is the way he looked most of the night: wondering where he is.
But, how many minds will it change? Trump should be out there saying “OK, you don’t personally like me. That’s OK. But, do you think I will do a better job? That’s the crux of the matter, folks, who will do better.”

Humorously, the Dems looking to replace the dolt from Delaware are touting everyone except Kamala Emhoff, because they understand that she’s a loser.

I disagree with that line of reasoning. The Democratic party has in the past brought people out of the backfield if they thought the situation was unwinnable. That’s how we got Bill Clinton. They literally could bring in any ringer at the convention. As long as the insider super-super delegates agree, it is a done deal. No majority of delegates needed. No primary needed. Hillary may decide it is her turn again and that it would be misogynistic to hold her age against her after totally supporting Biden. The democratic party does have plenty of good people who could do the job and win, but none of them will be considered because they are not in the club. It is possible that the Dems might even drag in a retired general to bring “gravitas” to the stage. 90% of them are democrats so it should be easy to find one who is willing to “defend the constitution” by running against Trump. He might even win.
Harris was never in consideration. Her only value was to be a willing puppet if the Puppet in chief were to die in office. She has no ability to sway the election and she brings nothing to the table. Not even the black vote. Fewer than 1% of Democrats wanted her as President.

The Dems have several potential candidates, e.g., Governors Shapiro (PA), Moore (MD), Newsom (CA), Whitmer (MI), Pritzker (IL), VP Harris etc. Shapiro and Whitmer would help in battleground states. Governor Wes Moore (MD) is a center-left Army veteran, deployed to Afghanistan as a Captain in the 82nd Airborne. Moore had interned with Republicans Tom Ridge (DHS) and Condaleeza Rice (Sec State). Still married to his first wife with 2 kids.

I didn’t bother watching the debate at all. It’s not like anything Sleepy Joe managed to get from is dying brain to his mouth would change my mind. It’s “his” policies that are completely wrong, as well as his being unfit for office. I figure that if I watched it, all it would do was anger me at CNN’s biased moderation… and I don’t need more anger.
It would be interesting to hear from our loyal party members on who they think should replace Biden on the ticket, but they have not yet been instructed on who that should be and they have no independent thought. The party line so far is “Biden is a sure winner and is doing a great job”.
It amazed me too. Where are the lousy, loyal party members who always tell us what we think, what we believe and how we will act? Guess they didn’t get their instructions.

I was wondering why yesterday suddenly I would went on a whole written diatribe about Trump’s “lies.” Overnight and this morning I noticed how every Democrat talking head is repeating trump’s lies, trump’s lies, trump’s lies. So now I know since they lost the debate their new thing until they can come across something really big will be talking about trump’s lies. They do realize they’ve been overdoing that for eight years now? A year or so ago I had copied out of some Internet magazine a list of bidens 100 biggest lies sadly I can’t find it any longer. But at that time I thought it’s funny complaining about a politician lying. And now they’re doing it again.
