Top Prosecutor Calls For Criminal Probe Of Opposition Leaders

Is this the United States or Venezuela?

Venezuela’s top prosecutor announces criminal probe of opposition leaders

Venezuela’s top prosecutor on Monday announced a criminal investigation against the opposition’s presidential candidate Edmundo González and its leader María Corina Machado over their call on the armed forces to abandon their support for President Nicolás Maduro and to stop repressing demonstrators.

Attorney General Tarek William Saab’s statement tied the investigation directly to a written appeal the two members of the opposition sent hours earlier about Maduro and the demonstrators who have come out in force to defend their votes in the July 28 election.

Saab, in a written announcement posted on the social media site X, said the duo “falsely announced a winner of the presidential election other than the one proclaimed by the National Electoral Council, the only body qualified to do so” and they openly incited “police and military officials to disobey the laws.”

Gonzalez’s and Machado’s written appeal shows the alleged commission of various crimes including usurpation of functions, dissemination of false information to cause fear and conspiracy, Saab said.

Going after the political opposition, eh? Sounds familiar. Of course, in Venezuela they’ll be treated a bit more harshly, thrown in a horrible prison, which is where all the protesters are going to be thrown, per the promise of the Maduro regime. And the tally sheets show that Maduro lost.

The Venezuela-based human rights organization Provea, in a report issued Monday analyzing the post-election climate, concluded that the government’s response in silencing people’s discontent has been “through the disproportionate use of force” that has resulted in the deaths of protesters and “the open coordinated action between security forces and groups of armed civilians in favor of Nicolás Maduro to calm the protests” which has led to an increase in arbitrary arrests.

Those upset with Trump losing are still being thrown in jail, still being tracked down. Those who rioted after Trump won in 2016, along with other similar incidents, are left (sic) alone.

EU Tells Venezuela To Stop ‘Judicial Intimidation’ Of Opposition

The European Union on Tuesday told Venezuela’s government to stop targeting opposition leaders after authorities opened a criminal probe against the main challengers disputing the reelection of President Nicolas Maduro.

“This needs to stop. We are calling on the authorities to stop this, this campaign of intimidation of the opposition and judicial intimidation,” EU spokesman Peter Stano said.

Sounds like what the Biden admin and their allies have been doing.

It’s hardly surprising that MAGAts are jealous of Maduro, who has the balls (and the weak rule of law) to put his regime in power forever!

Unfortunately for the MAGAt movement, despite then-President Trump’s best (worst?) efforts, America held. You know, that whole “peaceful transfer of power” thing. Except for Jan 6.

But in most respects, Trump and Maduro are similar.

Consider: If Venezuela had the rule of law, traditions and mores of the United States of America, and Maduro had not only lost but was also removed from office. You know, that whole “peaceful transfer of power” thing. Wouldn’t you expect the new government to investigate if not prosecute the President who tried to overturn their national election?

Have you noticed the 100s of thousands of Venezuela people are still rioting against Maduro 10 days after the election!! These are citizens who actually BELIEVE their election was stolen. In contrast, the MAGAt protest against President Biden lasted a few hours. No, I don’t think you really believe Trump’s election was stolen; it’s a talking point, a campaign ploy.

IF, then-president Trump HAD tried to stay in office, MILLIONS of Americans would have protested/rioted until he left. Would Trump have been able to persuade our military to attack our citizens?

    More democratical voters.

The Biden-Harris administration announced on Monday that it will expand the controversial CBP One App irregular immigration program to make it even easier for migrants to enter the United States. The expansion of the program, never authorized by Congress, will enable migrants near Mexico’s southern border to enter the United States.

Gosh, that could never ever happen here! Oh wait!

Because they pose “an increasing threat,” responsible citizens are urged to police their friends and neighbors about their use “of artificial intelligence technology to create realistic deepfake images, audio, videos and fake comments[.]”
