Democrats seek to tax fossil fuel companies over climate change
A large group of Democrats is looking to force the fossil fuel industry to pay for climate change.
Lawmakers unveiled a bill Thursday that would allow the Treasury Department to impose fees on major fossil fuel companies that are owned or operated in the U.S.
The legislation seeks to establish a $1 trillion fund that companies would have to pay into based on their share of planet-warming emissions. The money would go toward infrastructure upgrades, cleaning up pollution and providing assistance after climate-related disasters.
Oh, cool, a slush fund for Democrats to line their pockets and hook up their big campaign supporters
“After fueling the climate crisis for decades, big polluters can no longer run from their responsibility to address the harm they have done,” said Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), the bill’s Senate sponsor, in a written statement. The bill’s House sponsors are Reps. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Judy Chu (D-Calif.).
None of whom have given up their own fossil fueled travel. Yes, it matters.
The bill would also likely face an uphill battle under almost any Senate composition given the upper chamber’s 60-vote threshold for avoiding a filibuster.
Even if Democrats regain the House, it won’t pass the Senate. However, this tells you exactly what they want to do. You think food is expensive now? How about your energy bill? Just wait.

The ability of the leftists to pull money making ideas out of their asses is quite impressive. They always seem to have a new scam, scheme, shakedown or grift ready to go whenever the current sham collapses. You gotta admit this is quite beautiful. Taxing those that make America move and who don’t believe in the cult to pay cash into the pockets of radical supporters who refuse to cut their own use of fossil fuels. Kinda like a guy who owns AR-15’s being for “assault weapons” ban. Or the same guy who wouldn’t help an illegal in his own house demanding we buy them one. Gotta love the chutzpa.
All of this crap going on and we actually don’t know who is running the country. Who the hell is in charge? It can’t be the senile dick at the beach nor the kok suker out campaigning. So who is it? Are we on bureaucratic auto pilot?

We don’t think everyone else is stupid – only the Tampon Don zealots. Whether they are simply stupid, gullible or most likely, that Tampon Don promises to deliver those things they desire most – fewer brown people, more support for Christianity, fewer “public” displays of gayness, trans-ness, Islam, blackness – in other words they want more support and backing for white, Christian, straight, male hegemony. Tampon Don understands this well, and since satisfying HIS needs are his primary objective (to get re-elected) he uses those tools to keep his likely voters highly motivated.
The working class makes America great, not the billionaires. Our national debt is based on the difference between our spending (Social Security, Medicare, Defense, Interest, Medicaid make up about 80%) and our revenues (Personal income taxes, Social Security/Medicare taxes, corporate taxes + a few odds and ends). To balance the budget you either have to cut spending or increase taxes or both. Our economy hums along pretty well regardless with the occasional recession. The US Economy is the strongest on Earth ever. It’s understandable that the wealthy and super wealthy want to maintain all the advantages offered by America – stable society, educated/healthy workforce, clean air/water, supportive government – at the absolute lowest cost to them.
You may not understand what it means to “run the country”. Joseph Biden seems to be doing OK! No wars, economy humming, gas prices dropping, no pandemic…

That problems that don’t exist cannot be solved by any means aside. These leftists are well aware that no corporation ever has had a big vault of cash down in the basement like Scrooge McDuck, or that any corporation ever will just write the check when their taxes go up. But that’s how they sell this nonsense every time.
All corporate taxes are paid by the consumer, every time, always, forever.
Tax the car companies, car prices increase, tax the farmers, food prices increase, tax motor fuel ALL prices increase!
