Minneapolis Swears In First Non-U.S. Citizen as Police Officer
Minneapolis, Minnesota, has sworn in its first police officer who is not a U.S. citizen, according to reports.
The Minnesota Police Dept. has reported that Lesly Vera, a native of Somalia, was sworn in on Thursday as the department’s first non-citizen officer.
Vera was seen at the swearing-in ceremony wearing a hijab over her head as she took the oath of office and received her badge.
Vera moved to Minneapolis with her parents from their arrival point in Mexico when she was four. She is a legal resident alien and authorized to work, but is not a U.S. citizen.
Oh, this should go well. Start off with a diminutive woman, and, all due respect, we’ve seen the video of how that has worked out with other police departments in the 1st World. Second, you have a Somali, and a goodly chunk of them are Islamic extremists, as we’ve seen in Minneapolis as they demonstrate against Jews, against Israel, and for Islamic terrorist groups, and are the main reason why Islamic extremist and Jew hater Ilhan Omar was elected and keeps getting elected.

from Minneapolis KSTP: Now part of the rank-and-file are 11 recruits and 12 lateral officers who are joining from other agencies, some with more than a decade of experience. Of the recruits is the first-ever Somali woman, Ikran Mohamed, and permanent resident, Lesly Vera, for the department.
A permanent resident who is a non-citizen can be part of the department now due to a recent law change, Chief O’Hara said. Officer Vera said she moved to Minneapolis from Mexico when she was 4 and has called it home since.
OK… Officer Ikran Mohamed (23) is a Somali-American whose family fled the Somali civil war to Kenya and who immigrated to the US in 2010. She grew up in Faribault MN, south of Minneapolis.
Lesly Vera is a Mexican immigrant (i.e., Green Card) who local law now allows to become an officer.

What could go wrong? A few years ago Minneapolis hired an affirmative action Somalian police officer under a “cultural enrichment” program. One night in 2017 he shot an unarmed woman in her pajamas who had called about noises in the alley behind her house. When the police arrived, she walked up to the driver side of the cop car to talk with the officers. The Somalian officer, who was sitting on passenger side of the police car, reached across his partner and fatally shot the woman in the chest, totally unprovoked. The female police chief at the time resigned a short time later, and the offending officer was later convicted of third degree murder. Good times!
What could go wrong? Every year some 600 are killed in the US by police. 25% of the victims are Black. Mostly by white officers!
In the US some 85,000 end up in the hospital from police actions.
Every year Americans have over 50 million interactions with police. Traffic stops, street stops, arrest, traffic accident, resident contact. Most of contacts do NOT result in violence, but nearly
250,000 do!
Note too, that candidate and emeritus president, Donnie, called for police having 1 day or 1 hour to get rough and tough on “criminals”. My former next door neighbor Barney H was a police officer various St Louis area departments and got busted for delivering Trump-style justice on “dirtbags”, using departmet-approved flashlight! We were surprised seeing his mugshot on TV one night! He once pulled his police are on the Mrs as she was bringing the trash cans up to the house. I told him not to shoot anyone “stealing” my trash cans! Barney passed away about 10 years ago.

I have not seen my house yet although my neighbor told me over the phone we got about 5′ of flooding from Tampa Bay which would total the house, the contents and all three cars. My boats are fine they were in a commercial boat shed. Last Thursday my dad had the girls and me flown up to Palm Beach to wait out the storm at his house. We hope to fly back by Thursday. Palm Beach only got a bad thunderstorm or two.

She was born in Somalia and her family fled to Kenya to avoid the violence. They came to the US in 2010. I assume she became a US citizen as so many immigrants do – hence a Somali-American. Ms Mohamed is not a declared enemy of American any more than you are.
