No. Hurricane formation and continuaion are complex interactions. Ocean temperature, atmospheric water content, wind shear, prevailing wind direction play a role. There are 4 storms at various levels of development currently in the Atlantic/Caribbean.
Hurricane Kirk (Cat 3) will avoid the US and should be downgraded to to a tropical storm over cooler northern Atlantic waters before making landfall in Europe.
Hurricane Leslie (Cat 1) is not predicted to make landfall.
Tropical Storm Milton will likely strengthen over the hot Caribbean and hit western Florida next week.
A Tropical Wave is forming of the west coast of Afica.
The unprecedented strength of Helene may be a result of the very warm Caribbean waters.
There was nothing “unprecedented” about Helene’s strength. Maybe its path but not its strength.
“While this storm marks the most powerful hurricane seen this season, it makes history as the ninth category 4 or 5 hurricane to hit the mainland U.S. in the last 50 years—six of which have occurred since just 2017. Five of these made landfall along the Florida coastline, with Hurricane Andrew alone causing an estimated $26 billion in damages to the state in 1992. Two others have impacted Louisiana, with the remaining hitting Texas and South Carolina.”

Elwood, most do, some don’t. Like Helena. We are all aware of the causes of hurricanes. Few of us believe them to be currently more fierce or frequent because of man’s progress.
We realize both atheists and agnostics love to attribute all the power of heaven and earth to man but we don’t buy it. There are some things God, not humanity is only equipped to deal with. Changing the climate of a planet is one of them. Refusing to believe in God does not change it.
