Biden announces $425 mn Ukraine arms package
US President Joe Biden announced a $425 million arms package for Kyiv Wednesday in a call with President Volodymyr Zelensky, ahead of a farewell visit to Berlin to discuss Ukraine, the White House said. (snip)
The $425 million US package includes “additional air defense capability, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles, and critical munitions to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs,” the White House said.
How much of that will end up as graft in the pockets of politicians, bureaucrats, and oligarchs?
Zelenskyy outlines his ‘victory plan’ to Ukraine’s lawmakers, including a call to join NATO
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told lawmakers Wednesday that Ukraine’s Western partners are increasing pressure to negotiate with Russia, but he hinted such talks would be unfavorable to Kyiv as he unveiled what he called his “victory plan” for the war.
Major points of the plan include an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO and permission to use Western-supplied longer-range missiles to strike military targets deep inside Russian territory — steps that have been met with reluctance by Kyiv’s allies so far.
“If we start moving according to this victory plan now, it may be possible to end the war no later than next year,” Zelenskyy told the Verkhovna Rada, the parliament. He will present the five-point plan to the European Council on Thursday.
Might it have been nice to have a victory plan prior to the U.S. dumping almost $200 billion of taxpayer money which we can’t afford into Ukraine? Which has a leadership which isn’t exactly upstanding? Remember, presidential elections have been postponed. They were supposed to be in Spring 2024. We’ve heard about the Spring offensive several times, which were supposed to get Russia out of Ukraine. All failed. It’s really a stalemate. But, what is the US getting out of it?
Well. That’s interesting. My Pentagon sources tell me there is nothing left to give. The ammo bunkers are near empty and far below what we held in reserve in case we have to go defend Western Europe from Eastern Europe or “Eastern China” from “Western China”. There are no unused congressional appropriations left to repay the services for equipment they give away. We already played the accounting tricks of undervaluing “used” equipment so we could send more of it.
Biden is the lamest of lame ducks. He doesn’t even speak for America any more. In terms of foreign policy, Blinken outranks him. Zelenskyy just finished his European tour and returned empty handed. The Europeans are giving nothing because the Americans told them that we are giving nothing. Now suddenly, Biden says we are giving more.
I wonder if this is a deliberate effort by Biden to get even with Harris bay making her have to answer for why Ukraine gets more money but North Carolina doesn’t. Biden always did have a mean streak.
And every penny of that $425m came from the donations Americans made to FEMA; that was supposed to go to the hurricane victims.
Well, no. FEMA funds cannot be used to support Ukraine. The House of Representatives must generate all spending bills.

No. It really isn’t. Ukraine is being gutted. Russia is stronger than ever since the end of the Cold War. The Russian Army is taking ground on every front and Ukrainian army forces are incapable of holding defense lines anywhere. The end of this war is inevitable and the outcome will be a Russian occupation of Kiev. It won’t be long before Zelenskyy is seeking asylum somewhere nice. Western Europe has nothing left in their arsenals to defend themselves and are more dependent on the USA for defense than ever before.
The USA is getting nothing out of it. The Democratic party neo-neo-cons and the old neo-con alliance was getting to weaken Russia and hoped to get regime change, booting out Putin. They failed. No telling why they wanted that other than holding a grudge against Putin for not allowing them and their rich friends to treat Russia like the Wild West, like they did in Ukraine.
This war was caused by people in the US government for personal reasons that were never debated in congress and approved by the American people. And with a change of government looming in the USA, the appetite for “last year’s adventure” is wearing thin. It was always a war that didn’t need to happen. Members of the Biden administration need to be executed for war crimes. There is no greater war crime than starting a war, then keeping it going when a negotiated settlement would have been cheap and easy. Over a million voices cry out from the graves cursing the names Biden, Blinken, Nuland, Hillary Clinton and Boris Johnson.
Add to that another $4.7 BILLION.
Seems Biden-Harris are shoveling out taxpayers money to buy the election.
