Hooray! Dodgers Win The Series 4-1 In Epic Comeback

Forget politics, I’m loving this. I’ve been a Dodgers fan since I was in Little League and the team I played for was the Dodgers. Surprisingly, this is only the 8th Dodgers World Series title. They might have had more if the Astros and Red Sox weren’t cheaters (OK, I’m still salty about that)

Dodgers win World Series after incredible Game 5 comeback over Yankees

For the second time this decade, the Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions.

The Dodgers fought back from down five runs to take Game 5 of the Fall Classic against the New York Yankees, 7-6, to win the eighth title in franchise history.

Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm went back-to-back in the first inning, and by the fourth inning, it was a 5-0 lead for New York. However, their biggest issue in shoddy defense would come back to haunt them.

In the fifth inning, Judge dropped a routine line drive. Then, Chisholm couldn’t handle a short throw at third. After that, Gerrit Cole didn’t cover first base on what should have been the third out, which instead was an RBI single. The Dodgers saw an opportunity and pounced, as Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez each drove in two runs to tie the game at five.

I figured it was over after the Yanks jumped out to the 5-0 lead, and it was on to game 6. Consider, no one has ever come back from a 3 games to zero deficit in the World Series. Only one team has ever come back in the playoffs. No team had ever forced a game 6. And almost no one comes back from a 5-0 score.

But, then the Dodgers tied with 3 errors by the Yankees. The Yanks got one back to lead 7-6. Then the Dodgers regained the lead in the 8th with too many walks followed by sacrifice flies, and the Dodgers pitching stopped the Yanks in the 8th and 9th, with Walker Bueller coming in and shutting them down, including a strikeout to end it.

Freddie Freeman was the MPV, with 4 HR, 6H, 12 RBI, and 5 R. Totally monster.

Unfortunately

LA hit by looting and chaos amid Dodgers World Series celebrations

A bus was set on fire, shops were looted and fireworks thrown at police in scenes of lawlessness and “absolute chaos” in downtown LA following the Dodgers’ historic World Series win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday night.

LAPD said at 10:43 p.m. (1:43 ET Thursday) on X that there were reports of several stores being looted on Broadway and 8th Street. Various videos posted to social media, including one shared by the official LAPD X account, showed people walking out of a Nike store holding goods.

Of course this is a highly Liberal city. Please don’t do this, just celebrate. Happens too often after a sports team wins.

You never see the good citizens of Rocky Face GA, Rocky Comfort AR, Stringtown KY or Koshkonong MO riot when THEIR teams win world championships do you?? Why is it the outbreaks only occur in big cities?

I haven’t watched MLB since the Atlanta All-Star fiasco. Not that I’m a big sports fan to begin with.
