Democrats Lose It Over Trump Picks For Agency Heads

And, of course, some Squishy Republicans. The one that has driven them the most crazy is Matt Gaetz

Trump’s Gaetz pick as AG triggers audible gasp among some congressional Republicans

Reaction among Republicans on Capitol Hill to President-elect Donald Trump’s choice of Matt Gaetz to be his attorney general on Wednesday ranged from shock to support.

Several House Republicans meeting behind closed doors said there was an audible gasp in the room when they heard Trump had picked Gaetz.

Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins was among those who said they were shocked, appearing to refer to Trump’s demand that his nominees be done with recess appointments — without Senate confirmation.

“This shows why the advice and consent process is so important, and I’m sure that there will be a lot of questions raised at his hearing,” Collins told reporters. “Obviously, the president has the right to nominate whomever he wishes, but I’m certain that there will be a lot of questions.”

Alaska GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who voted to find Trump guilty at his second impeachment trial during his first term, said “I don’t think this is a serious nomination for the attorney general.”

“We need to have a serious attorney general and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to consider somebody that is serious,” she said. “This one was not on my bingo card.”

Anyone surprised by those two? Obviously, Democrats lost their every loving you know what over this.

There has obviously been a freakout over all. Marco Rubio as Secretary Of State seems safe, as does John Ratcliffe for CIA Director, but, Army veteran Pete Hegseth as Secretary Of Defense? Kristi Noem as Director Of Homeland Security? Lee Zeldin as head of the EPA? Most of these people, so far, are not meant to be administrators: they are meant to be bomb throwers. People who will shake things up, bring the hammer down on waste, fraud, malfeasance, on people who are working on their own agenda rather than doing the best for the citizens of the United States. People who do not want to be public servants, but, Lords. I can’t wait for Trump’s pick of FBI director. This is what Trump was elected for.

Also, Trump is lining the right with potential 2028 candidates. This allows Key people to build further relationships in the government by working with the House and Senate. People who can stand up for MAGA when they are constantly grilled on Capitol Hill.

Many of these appointments are made by people who can think on their feet and will not brook personal attacks without responding in kind.

You know this is an excellent set of picks when Ben Shapiro is ecstatic since he is secretly a Never-Trumper who, now that Israel was attacked and treated like shit by the LEFT, realizes that most of these picks are staunch Pro-Israel picks that will have Israels back and let Israel end this fuking war once and for all.

The problem with the United States has been we start a war, run it like a business for 20 years, and then give up only to START ANOTHER ONE. Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, anyone? To keep the MIC in business. Unfortunately, fighting Muslims in Afghanistan is not preparing for CHINA, which has built its entire military from the ground up over the last 30 years for one purpose. DEFEATING THE USA. Going house to house in Afghanistan will significantly help the NAVY fight the CHINESE NAVY off of TAIWAN.

Our military needs to be updated RAPIDLY, as China has said they intend to take Taiwan back by 2029, and North Korea’s fighting in Ukraine is a training ground to see what they will face in Taiwan. Even Russia has not fought a war since the early 80s, and China/North Korea since Vietnam in the 60s/70s. Barring, of course, a spat with India which did not end well for the Chinese either.

Expect a sea change in whether “principled opposition” is no longer being a “Russian asset.” With Trump in office, Leftist insurrection is back on the menu.

The Democrats have demonized any legitimate criticism of their horrible foreign policies by calling them “Russian assets” for almost a decade now, and there always seem to be enough low-IQ citizens who buy it. It’s a lazy way to avoid having to really justify the policies or defend the failures of those policies. Lazy and dishonest.

  4. Dana says:

We won a bare majority in the House, and former and future President Trump is stripping away Republican representatives from the House? There’s no guarantee that they’ll all be replaced by Republicans!

  5. Elwood P Dowd says:

Hegseth and Gabbard and Gaetz, oh my!

LOL. Insiders say Sec Defense was between Hegseth and Putin.

DNI was between Gabbard and Putin. When asked who he preferred, Trump said, “What’s the difference?” Assad was in third place.

Now that Steve Bannon is out of prison, it was a close race between him and the incompetent Gaetz for AG.

Gaetz immediately resigned from Congress, putting the kibosh on the House investigations of his potential crimes, where he was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct (trafficking a teen girl), illicit drug use, accepted improper gifts and sought to obstruct government investigations of his conduct.

In any event patriotic Republicans will whine for a moment but will fall in line as they always do.

    Mandate!!

Thanks again for your nonsense, Rimjob. .
      Oh yeah, and the mandate!

  6. Elwood P Dowd says:

Republicans will have to choose between America and Trump. Most will succumb to Trump’s implied and actual threats to their careers. It’s how democracies* become autocracies.

    Personality cult!!.

Rimjob: Blah blah choose between Trump and America.

      Okay, so how’s that, loser?

    • Dana says:

      Our madcap Missourian wrote:

Republicans will have to choose between America and Trump.

This is where the distinguished Mr Dowd just doesn’t get it: Donald Trump is America! Mr Trump not only won a plurality, but an absolute majority, of the popular vote, 50.2% of the total vote count, as reported by the Associated Press at 1:21 PM EST today.

But it’s more than just the vote totals. He won based on real American values: the values of work, of heterosexuality, of Christianity, of capitalism, and of Western civilization. He won the public who support law enforcement, he won the public who support the military, he won the public who support equality, he won the public who don’t want war, he won the public who wish to be able to walk down the street without worrying that they won’t get mugged, murdered, raped, or molested.

      • Elwood P Dowd says:

We didn’t make our point clear enough for the Kook from Kentucky to discern. Our apologies. We were describing Republican politicians, not the voters, who are entitled to cast their votes as they see fit.

The politicians will have to decide whether to put America and our Constitution ahead of Trumpism.

If Mr Dana believes the mass of Americans will support the oppression of homosexuals, our military, non-christians, immigrant children, women, blacks and trans persons he will be surprised in 2026 and 2028. Americans did not elect Kim jong Don to imprison Generals, politicians and media types who criticized him.

  7. Elwood P Dowd says:

    Representative Troy Nehls (R-TX):

“There’s no question he’s the leader of our party. His mission, his goals and objectives, whatever that is, we need to embrace it. All of it. Every single word.”

“If Donald Trump says ‘Jump three feet high and scratch your heads,’ we all jump three feet high and scratch our heads.”

    Cult.

    • drowningpuppies says:

Maybe Rimjob should look up “landslide” and “mandate”.

      Thanks for both, loser!

    • CarolAnn says:

Funny how a guy who has replaced God with the democommie party thinks he can identify a cult. You really need some introspection dowd.

  8. Doom and Gloom says:

The Dowds of the left led to a Mandate and landslide for the Right.

They lost because the Democrats never once voted for Kamala, yet she was INSTALLED AS THE Democrats candidate over Joe Biden and received over 70 million votes.

Talk about a cult. Talk about people FALLING IN LINE and doing what they are told.

    • L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

For the last ten years or so radical leftists like Dowd have been blind to how they project their hate and ignorance onto others. Dowd is a prime example of a “useful idiot” that Lenin, one of his heroes, coined.

Dowd has never once disagreed, gone against or varied in any degree from the official democrat narrative or agenda since he’s been commenting here yet he has the nuts to call others cultists. He backed Biden because he was told to same with the fellatio queen of California. He backed them both knowing they were slime and liars. But hey, all politicians are liars. It comes with the territory. Trump’s a liar too. But Trump loves America and Americans and the other two pricks along with their devoted followers love power and money and to control other people.

The left including Dowd have been in denial about everything for years from climate to sex to abortion to who would win this election (without creating).

Loosers. They are all loosers. We have watched Dowd comment here for years and lie as he did. Insult us, America, manhood, White people, heterosexuals and truth and honor as he lied.

Even now after his so-called party has suffered the biggest defeat in decades he still continues to lie and demean us and America.

The greatest thing about not being a Dowd is how Teach demonstrates one of his and America’s finest attributes when he prints:
“If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all”

That says it all for me including why it was imperative Trump won the election.

Thank you Teach. God bless America.

  9. drowningpuppies says:

After he was shot this summer, I commented on this very thing to my wife and college-aged son. Only a true patriot who was utterly convinced that his conscience would not allow him to step aside would endure so much, and cause himself and his family so many troubles and financial woes.

He didn’t need to do this. It has earned him nothing. It has cost him so much – even nearly his life. Twice.

I never would have thought I’d say it, but Donald Trump will likely go down as one of the greatest patriots in American history.

  10. Elwood P Dowd says:

Tom Nichols on Trump’s security clearance:

In sum, Trump is an anti-American, debt-ridden, unstable man who has voiced his open support for violent seditionists. If he were any other citizen asking for the privilege of handling classified material, he would be sent packing.

(Once) elected, of course, government employees will have no choice but to give the returning president access to everything, including the files that are among the holiest of holies, such as the identities of our spies overseas and the status of our nuclear forces. Senior civil servants could refuse and publicly resign, and explain why, but in the end, the system (despite Trump’s “deep state” accusations) is designed to support the president, not obstruct him, and the reelected President Trump will get whatever he demands.

We’ll never know how much of this information Trump shares (or has shared) with his buddies Putin, Xi, Netanyahu and Kim.

  11. Jl says:

JD Vance-“The main issue with Matt Gaetz is that he used his office to prosecute his political opponents and authorized federal agents to harass parents who were peacefully protesting at school board meetings.
Oh wait-that was actually Merrick Garland, the current Attorney General…”

    • Elwood P Dowd says:

      Jl,

The DOJ addressed threats of violence against school board members. Do you object to that? If so, why? (I would ask for evidence to back your claim but…)

If your political opponents break the laws shouldn’t they be prosecuted, regardless of how rich and politically powerful?

Mr Trump has said he will pardon the criminals who violently attacked the US Capitol. Those political opponents? Mr Trump has been prosecuted for stealing US government documents, attempting to overthrow the elected government. He has been convicted at state levels for multiple felonies.

Whom should AG Gaetz prosecute? Trump has suggested the Biden Crime Family, Clintons, Obamas, Garland, Jack Smith, and dozens more.

      • Jl says:

I see-and if there were threats of violence say, on a playground, who would be called? The local police.

  12. Elwood P Dowd says:

    Hi CarolAnn,

Political parties are real, not imagined.

Even Mr Trump is real, although his cult members attribute imagined qualities to him.

Rep Nehls was elected to serve the people of his district in Texas, not to acquiesce to the desires of Mr Trump. Our elected officials pledge to the nation and the Constitution, not to an individual, regardless of how god-like you perceive him to be.

    • drowningpuppies says:

Thanks for the childish explanation, loser.

      MAGA Motherfucker!

    • CarolAnn says:

Rep Nehls was elected to serve the people of his district in Texas, not to acquiesce to the desires of Mr Trump.

There is no reason he can’t do both. You seem to believe when democommies follow their agenda it’s divine inspiration but if Republicans do it it becomes nefarious.

You are incapable of seeing beyond your own bigotry, prejudice and political bias.

      That’s good! Keep loosing.

      • Elwood P Dowd says:

        Hi CarolAnn,

What is the MAGAt inability to understand the difference between ‘lose’ and ‘loose’? It’s endemic!

‘Lose’ is the opposite of win. ‘Loose’ describes Trump’s morals.

True, it can be both! Repubifascists are very flexible in their ethics.

        • CarolAnn says:

It’s not “endemic”, it’s spellcheck when you dictate.

You never miss an opportunity to try and be a snob do you?

          • Elwood P Dowd says:

            Hi CarolAnn,

Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind every time I see that jarring misspelling!

Grammar and English is snobbery? Got it.

  13. Elwood P Dowd says:

King Donnie the Autocrat on recess appointments…

Any Republican Senate leader “must agree to Recess Appointments.”

The onus is on Senator Thune now. Why is Trump afraid of the Senate’s ‘advise and consent’?

    • L.G.Brandon!, L.G.Brandon! says:

Presidents request all sorts of shit. Why is only remarkable when we do it?

    • drowningpuppies and says:

President elect Trump already stated his reasons for the recess appointments, dipshit.
      And his reasoning is sound.

Again, Rimjob, thanks for the mandate.

      MAGA Motherfucker!

    • CarolAnn says:

Grammar and English is snobbery? Got it.

You insist upon snorting “Got it” when you haven’t. The snobbery was your burning need to point out every error anyone does. I’ll point out one of your errors: You voted for Kameltoe! LOL. (Was my grammar correct?)

      • Elwood P Dowd says:

And you voted for that Big Whore Don, LOL.

How many girls and women do you estimate the Big Whore banged? Hundreds? Thousands? And with that little mushroom shaped member!

What are the odds that he forced himself on more than one of them?

You voted for a rapist and serial sexual abuser. No LOL about that.

The same people who have issues with Pete Hegseth wanted Kamala Harris as Commander in Chief…Let that sink in…

    • Elwood P Dowd says:

VP Harris had been a prosecutor, AG, a Senator and a US Vice President. Peter Hegseth hosted a weekend show on FOX ‘News’.

People of your ilk voted for Donald Trump.

      • James Lewis says:

Chicken Little Hamas Karen Man (??)

And she did a piss poor job.

You’re just scared that an actual veteran will understand what the military needs..

    • drowningpuppies says:

The same people didn’t have a problem with Pete Bootygag as Transportation Secretary. Guess it was because he is a queermo who likes trains and was vaguely interested in planes.

Or with Lloyd Austin to lead the Defense Department. You see, Lloyd Austin was serving on the board of Raytheon, one of the biggest defense contractors in the world. And he is black. Makes sense don’t it.

Or with Rachel Levine biological male originally named Richard who decided in middle age to start wearing a dress and rebrand himself as Rachel. Made perfect sense, we were told, for a man deeply confused about the basic realities of human biology to oversee the nation’s healthcare system.

      Yeah let ’em go apeshit.
