WWIII Watch: Ukraine Claims Russia Fired ICBMs

If this is true, it is a serious escalation. But, the AP is, surprisingly, skeptical

Ukraine says Russia launched an intercontinental missile in an attack for the first time in the war

Ukraine claimed Thursday that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile overnight at a city. If confirmed, it would be the first time Moscow has used such a weapon in the war.

Ukraine did not provide any evidence that an ICBM was used in the attack on the central city of Dnipro, apparently armed with conventional warheads.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a missile used “matches the speed and altitude” of an ICBM. The Kremlin refused to comment on the strike.

The attack comes in a week when tensions have repeatedly soared, as the U.S. eased restrictions on Ukraine’s use of American-made longer-range missiles inside Russia and the Kremlin lowered its threshold for launching nuclear weapons.

The range of an ICBM — which can exceed 5,500 kilometers (3,400 miles) — is beyond what is needed to attack Ukraine. But such missiles are designed to carry atomic warheads, and the use of one, even with a conventional payload, would serve as a chilling reminder of Russia’s nuclear capability and a powerful message of potential escalation.

Why would Russia fire something that expensive which is mean to go very, very far away, even to the other side of the world?

(Fox News) Russian troops launched various missiles, reportedly including an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Astrakhan region, in an early morning attack on Ukraine on Thursday.

Ukraine’s Air Force said on its Telegram account that it destroyed six Kh-101 cruise missiles using anti-aircraft combat.

The Russian attack hit critical infrastructure in the central-eastern city of Dnipro, according to the air force.

Why would they launch an ICBM when it is under 1,000 miles from launch point to Dnipro? Unless they simply wanted to make a point. Those cruise missiles can do a whole lot more damage. It could very well have been a big missile, just, not an ICBM. If true, though, it is a serious escalation, and, a step closer to a much wider war. Because you also have

(CNN) Ukraine launched the British-French-made Storm Shadow missiles at targets inside Russia for the first time on Wednesday, according to a Russian military blog and Reuters, a day after Ukraine fired US-made ATACMS missiles into Russia.

Ukraine’s use of the UK-supplied missiles to hit Russian territory was confirmed to Reuters by an official on condition of anonymity. British media also reported the use of the cruise missile on Wednesday, citing sources.

Ukraine says ICBM, US says intermediate range IRBM. Potayto, potahto…

Trump will fix it on day 1.

The prick Zelensky just fired British and French equivalents of the Atacms meant to go 150-200 miles at a city 30 miles from the front lines.

Hell even their artillery could reach this city. But NO, he used the forbidden, at least by Putin, of French and UK ballistic missiles to make sure that Putin Drags the USA, FRANCE and THE UK into the affair, making them fair game for Putin to rain ICBMs down on UK and FRENCH CITIES.

IF they respond in Kind its WW3 baby. Nukes will start flying and UK, France and the USA will respond with limited strikes and it will just walk up to a full on conflagration with Iran, China, Pakistan, Israel, the USA, France and the UK all firing what they got until nothing is left.

All because the current administration has been so obsessed with protecting Ukraine and its resources that resources wont matter. Neither will DEFICITS…..I guess Cheney was right….DEFICITS DON’T MATTER since we wont be around to pay them off.

Actually I have been told and read many a story from NATO that the reason for the attempted escalation of the war with Russia is that they really do want a war with Russia because NATO states are circling the Drain.

Several undersea cables were just cut by a Chinese spy ship that was finally boarded by the Dutch to find out it was crewed by RUSSIANS. The ship was tracked leaving Russia and heading to a point where these two cable cross each other going to different places.

The reason for a war is that if NATO can defeat Russia they land a jackpot of oil, gas and wealth. Putin understands this and NATO is just hoping that the powers that be will stop Putin from launching ICBM’s. The reason the USA is in on this plan under Biden is to drag IRAN and China into the conflict thus easing the pressure on Israel and Taiwan.

In one fell swoop NATO and the USA can end the Axis of evil. Russia, China, and Iran. North Korea is a joke. They are NOT even on the front lines but rather protecting the eastern flank while Russia pulls it troops from its eastern border to fight Ukraine.

Defense Express, which is a Ukrainian defense consultancy, was asked whether the U.S. had been informed about the missile launch ahead of time.

“It is also a question of whether the United States was warned about the launch and its direction, as the announcement of such launches is a prerequisite for preventing the triggering of a missile warning system and the launch of missiles in response,” Defense Express wrote after the air force statement.

On Wednesday the U.S. shut down its embassy in Kyiv as a safety concern due to a threat of a significant air attack.

However, it said the embassy would reopen on Thursday.

YEAH, THEY WERE WARNED or more circuitously cautioned that and ICBM launch on Ukraine was imminent so they shut down their embassy for a day only to reopen it today.

AS I said earlier, pulling information together from multiple sources is better than relying on MSNBC, CNN or FOX for your news and information.

If Russia used a ballistic missile, it was much shorter range than an ICBM. In the meantime, former Ambassador John Bolton is proving himself to be an idiot, noting that, when it comes to expansion of the war in Ukraine, “it is important to remember that the U.S. has never renounced the first use of nuclear weapons.”
