Every few generations America and Americans confront the threat of authoritarianism.

We do not agree with the authors of the Declaration of Independence, that governments ‘derive their just powers from the consent of the governed’, enslaver George Fitzhugh of Virginia wrote in 1857. “All governments must originate in force, and be continued by force.” There were eighteen thousand people in his county and twelve hundred could vote, he said, “but we twelve hundred never asked and never intend to ask the consent of the sixeen thousand eight hundred whom we govern.”

    — Professor Heather Cox Richardson, Boston College

MAGAts, such as Mr Dana, firmly believe that America was a much better place when the poor, the blacks, the natives, non-Christians and the women could not vote, when fewer than 10% of “Americans” decided on who should rule. Unsurprisingly they preferred men that looked like themselves.

From America’s inception the conservative movement has believed and promoted the notion that white men are entitled to rule America, explaining the need for the Voting Rights and Civil Rights Acts, the 15th, 18th, 24th and 25th Amendments. In addition several other federal laws were necessary to assure further voting rights for the elderly, those with disabilities, enabling easier registration, and easier voting from overseas military. This also explains why the conservative movement has been so intent on suppressing the votes of poor and black Americans. Without Constitutional protections the conservative movement would turn over voting eligibility to the states (like what they’ve done with abortion).

In ’39 the conservative movement united at a Nazi Party rally held in Madison Square Garden, where Mr Trump hald his recent fascist rally, denigrating Puerto Ricans, LGBTQs, Hispanics, VP Harris, etc.

You lie, as usual. The American Bund held the 1939 rally and it was NOT where Mr. Trump held his recent patriotic rally rather it was held at a TOTALLY DIFFERENT LOCATION. Dummy!. And none of the people you racially singled out were denigrated THEY WERE INVITED you racist commie pig!

Just so you know Edmund Burke is considered the founder of conservatism and Founding Father John Adams is considered the start of American conservativism. Neither of these two great men could be considered fascist under any circumstances even considering fascism was invented by the socialist Benito Mussolini long after their deaths. You really need to stop waiving your ignorance like a red flag.

  2. Jl says:

Here we go-what “fascist rally” are you referring to? And denigrating Puerto Ricans and LGBTQ’s..how?
But I see, as opposed to you guys denigrating half the country?

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

      Jl,

Every trump rally is a fascist rally. You know the answers to your other questions.

      • drowningpuppies says:

Every trump rally is a fascist rally.

        Really?

        Bwaha! Lolgf https://www.thepiratescove.us/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

      • Jl says:

Translated-you have no proof of “fascist rally”. But we already knew that.
By the way, if you’re on the lookout for fascists, it’s usually a good practice to start with those who are doing the censoring. You know, you guys…

  3. Elwood P. Dowd says:

    LBJ,

You may be right. But stop your silliness regarding the MSG. Both the Nazi Rally and the Fascist Rally were held at MSG. One at the 1925 Garden and the other at the 1968 Garden.

It’s unclear when exactly the white supremacists took over the conservative movement. Early on, there was little threat to wealthy white Christians from negroes, women and non-Christians. They had to worry about

Edmund Burke, the so-called father of modern conservatism, believed human beings are steeped in original sin and that society therefore needs traditional institutions, such as an established church and a landed aristocracy, in order to function.

John Adams is remembered as the father of American conservatism for advocating a strong federal government and a powerful executive branch. His constitutional contributions and belief in elite governance shaped conservative ideals.

Does this seem consistent with today’s conservatism? To me it does. Powerful executive branch, established church, landed aristocracy, elite governance… check, check, check and check.

Today’s conservatives feel they and their traditions are being replaced by darkies, muzzies, fags, trannies, dykes and beaners.

Trump is their (your) vehicle for stopping the onslaught of violent Hispanics, Blacks, Muslims and Democrats who have ruined your America.

BTW – When tRump deports 20 to 30 million American residents on day one, what if there is a mistake and they deport a citizen? When they deport non-citizen mom and dads, what happens to their 4,6,7 & 9-year old American citizen kids?

  4. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Big Donnie is in full panic mode as the polls show him losing.

His cult followers sense his panic as well and making their plans on how to ‘celebrate’ VP Harris’s looming victory.

Hence, all this mushrooming talk of cheating from trump and his gang.

If you believe the United States of America will tolerate Jan 6 style violence again, you may be surprised.
