cBS Notes Americans Are Paying More For Health Insurance

I’m sure this was meant to be a way of the moonbats at cBS giving a valid reason for Luigi Mangione murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, but, it has gone so very, very wrong

Health insurance costs are far outpacing inflation, leaving more consumers on the hook each year for thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses. At the same time, some insurers are rejecting nearly 1 in 5 claims. That double whammy is leaving Americans paying more for coverage yet sometimes feeling like they’re getting less in return, experts say.

Frustration over denials and medical costs has fueled an outpouring of vitriol against health insurance companies in the wake of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Also last week, a similar outcry led Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield to reverse a decision to limit anesthesia coverage during surgeries.

The anger may be rooted in fears that unexpected medical costs could prove financially ruinous, as well as concerns that essential care could be denied by an insurer, putting health and well-being at risk even for those who have health insurance.

See? He had Reasons.

In 2024, the average health insurance premium for families carried a price tag of $25,572 per year, while single workers paid an average of $8,951, representing a 6% and 7% increase from the year earlier, KFF data shows. Since 2000, the rise in health insurance premiums has outpaced inflation for all but a handful of years, the health policy research firm found.

Well, let’s see: “In 2012, the average annual premium for family health insurance was $15,745. This was a 4% increase from the previous year. On average, workers paid $4,316 toward the cost of their coverage. Say, what happened in 2012?

  1. Dana says:

Health insurance costs have gone way up, and Joe Biden is still President, so I’m sure it’s all Donald Trump’s fault.

  2. Doom and Gloom says:

Health insurance has done exactly what it was supposed to: go up so high that the federal government would step in and create single-payer insurance or Medicare for all.

It’s working as planned. The left, led by Obama, told the insurance industry they could write their own plan.

Boy, did they ever. People are now gunning down CEOs over health coverage. If I were a healthcare executive, I would hire security and never step foot into an uncontrolled event again. That’s not a warning from me; that is the reality of the world they are creating.

Health insurance is not the issue. It is a symptom of a world gone mad. Corporate America was given an inch and took a mile. Taken over by leftists…Corporate America is not about making life fair for the working class or those who buy their products.

Instead, they are more into DEI, LGBTQ, and social issues while their prices escalate out of control. Including life and health insurance.

I am flabbergasted by the world of social media. It is not social at all. My daughter uses it to keep friends and family up to date on what her family is doing. As a trade-off, we talk on the phone once every three months now instead of almost daily 10 years ago since I did not and DO NOT own a cell phone. At all. Period. She texts my wife every other day or so, but my wife never tells me what she says, and when she does, it’s a cryptic text that begs more questions than it answers.

So, as I have been saying for 25 years now, the internet will create worldwide anarchy.
I needed to be no genius to extrapolate what I was seeing 20-plus years into the future. Social media is more like fight night in the sewers with no rules and corporate America is now in the sewers with the rest of the world wallowing in the shit they are dumping into the laps of its customers.
