Manufactured Kerfuffle Of The Day: GOP Rep Deb Fischer’s Husband Refused To Shake Hands With Kamala

The left is losing their minds over this

It’s all raaaaacism this and raaaaacism that

(The Grio) Bruce Fischer refused to make any eye or physical contact with America’s first female, first Black woman and first South Asian vice president.

A resurfaced clip of Nebraska Republican Senator Deb Fischer’s husband refusing to shake Vice President Kamala Harris‘s hand has gone viral on social media.

On Friday, Jan. 3, Harris performed her duty as vice president to swear in the new class of U.S. senators in the new 119th Congress — which includes both Democrats and Republicans. However, after Sen. Fischer was sworn in by Harris for her third term in office, her husband, Bruce Fischer, who held up the Bible during the swearing-in ceremony, deliberately declined to shake the vice president’s hand as she reached for his hand.

“Congratulations to you,” said the vice president as she extended her hand to Bruce Fischer after shaking his wife’s hand. Bruce Fischer instead looked down and simply nodded his head and said, “Thank you.” He refused to make any eye or physical contact with America’s first female, first Black woman and first South Asian vice president. Harris, who appeared taken aback by the snub, simply smiled and said, “You sure?”

How horrible! How mean! How rude! How raaaaacist! Oh, wait

As Sister Toldjah writes

I saw some folks suggest that Fischer could have shaken her hand after he gave the Bible back to the Senator. But the full video clip shows that Mr. Fischer looked a little unsteady on his feet and was watching the floor, perhaps to make sure he didn’t fall

Speaking from my role as a caregiver, I watched my dad constantly look down when he used his cane over the years and then later his walker, terrified he was going to fall. My mom has done the same. Dad did not like to be touched (hand on back, shoulder, handshake, etc), either, while using the cane and walker for the same reasons.

My dad looks down a lot, as well, with his cane and walker. I looked down a lot when I was much younger on the separate occasions I was on crutches from breaking my ankle then breaking my leg. And then when I moved to a walking cast.
