    Barack gets it.

Can we change all the names on the military bases back to what they were before?

They changed Fort Polk to a guy that was in a trench raid, got beat up and spent the rest of the war in hospital. Then became a drunk dying on the street. Total trash.

      david1865,

William Henry Johnson (c July 15, 1892 – July 1, 1929) was a United States Army soldier who performed heroically in the first African American* unit of the United States Army to engage in combat in World War I. On watch in the Argonne Forest on May 14, 1918, he fought off a German raid in hand-to-hand combat, killing multiple German soldiers and rescuing a fellow soldier while suffering 21 wounds.

In 1918, the French awarded Johnson with a Croix de guerre with star and bronze palm. He was the first U.S. soldier in World War I to receive that honor.

*david1918 considers all African-Americans to be ‘trash’ and inferior to whites.

Leonidas Polk was an American traitor who became a Confederate Major-General. Polk was a wealthy slave owner. It was said of him that: to the Union, Polk’s incompetence made him far more valuable alive than dead: “Polk’s incompetence and willful disobedience had consistently hamstrung Confederate operations west of the Appalachians, while his special relationship with the president (Jefferson Davis, his friend) made the general untouchable.”

So sure, name an Army Fort after Leonidas Polk.

Yep, Johnson was trash, you didn’t provide the rest of his history. Polk was not a very good general, but better than Johnson. I don’t care for your prejudice and racism jeff.
