A U.S. Navy SEAL acquitted of murder in a war crimes trial but convicted of posing for pictures with the corpse of an Iraqi detainee now faces proceedings to expel him from special forces, days after President Donald Trump reversed his demotion in rank.
When I was in Vietnam, this was standard procedure. To pose next to the corpses of dead fighters. It was also procedure by the CIA and others in Afghanistan and Iraq UNTIL SOMEONE FOUND OUT, and then everyone scrambled to cover their own asses.
Gallagher’s lawyer told Reuters that three of his commanding officers face separate hearings to review whether they, too, should be removed from the SEALs, an elite Navy special forces corps whose acronym stands for sea, air, and land.
Lawrence said their hearings will examine their “role of accountability” as Gallagher’s direct superiors.
DEFYING COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF? Trump stepped in and said Gallagher would retire from the Seals as chief instead of an E-1. The Navy then ignored Trump’s order to allow him to retire, failing to give him his paperwork to proceed with retirement by having a Trident review….in essence, rehashing the same court martial with the same evidence to TAKE AWAY his Trident or Navy seal pin and therefore expunging him from the SEALS.
Trump commented on X. He ordered them to let him retire and for the rest of them on their petty agenda to get back to work. The NAVY refused, which tells you how far even the military is embedded with woke lunatics running the show.
Now Trump is going to have to fire a dozen Navy Seals for Insubordination bordering on treason for refusing to obey a direct order from the Commander in Chief.
Trump is not trying to force the Navy to keep the man in the Seals or the military; he is not trying to overturn his conviction; he only wants the SEAL to retire as a CHIEF, the rank he earned because what he did was only offensive to the world once the pictures got out. If anything, the policy by his superiors should be brought into question and not those enlisted who have been taught to pose for CIA pictures so they can do their body counts and justify their role in the Middle East.
