FEMA Ends Migrant Housing Funding In SCNY

It’s long past time for the federal government to start spending taxpayer money on Americans, not illegals/fake asylum seekers

And then we have

FEMA halts migrant housing funds in NY after Musk’s criticism

The acting head of the federal agency responsible for responding to disasters said Monday that he’s suspending payments sent to New York City to house migrants and that staff who made them will be held accountable, after Elon Musk blasted the transactions on his social media platform.

Musk, who as head of the Department of Government Efficiency has consolidated control over much of the federal government and is working to cut costs and shrink the workforce, posted on X that his team “just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants.” He said the money is intended for disaster relief and would be clawed back.

Cameron Hamilton, acting administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, reposted Musk’s comments and said the payments were suspended as of Sunday.

Musk gave no evidence to support his claim, and information from the city of New York indicated that money it’s received to care for migrants was appropriated by Congress and allocated to the city last year by FEMA.

No one is surprised that ABC News went there, right? They weren’t too interested in proof when it came to Russia interference. If they were a news organization they would ask for the proof. But, they want to protect the illegals, not American citizens. They even manage to work in a mention of Project 2025 near the end. Moonbats.

twitter is not a credible reference.

Mr Teach’s left out the bulk of the abc article.

The money comes directly from Congress and is specifically for Customs and Border Protection — also part of the Department of Homeland Security. FEMA administers the payments.

The money is separate from the disaster relief fund, which is FEMA’s main funding stream to help people and governments affected by disasters.

The Shelter and Services Program has become a flashpoint for criticism by Republicans, who incorrectly claim it’s taking money from people hit by hurricanes or floods.

Teach either didn’t read this or chose to ignore, preferring to claim FEMA was ignoring North Carolinians.

The four people who were still at FEMA have been told to hit the unemployment line, but the question remains: who ordered these payments in the first place, and when were they ordered? The Biden political appointees are gone, so they can’t be fired for this.

Did the orders come from the Biden White House? Did the orders come before or after the election?

Pope Francis took issue with recent Catholic convert, VP J.D. Vance, who outlined a framework for Chriistian caring. Vance defended the migrant crackdown by citing a concept from old Catholic theology known as “ordo amoris.” He said the concept delineates a hierarchy of care — to family first, followed by neighbor, community, fellow citizens and lastly those elsewhere.

    Said the Pontiff:

“Christian love is not a concentric expansion of interests that little by little extend to other persons and groups. The true ordo amoris that must be promoted is that which we discover by meditating constantly on the parable of the ‘Good Samaritan,’ that is, by meditating on the love that builds a fraternity open to all, without exception.”

In addition, the Vatican’s main charity Caritas International warned that millions of people could die as a result of the “ruthless” U.S. decision to “recklessly” stop USAID funding.

      Jeff,
Your stupidity knows no end. Really? The Good Samaritan? Samaritan’s were the lower cast in the area and there were substantial racist implications that people today are not aware of. In addition, if you saved an individual, you owned them, which sounds ok, a return to slavery.

      • Professor Hale says:

Don’t expect Jeff to know much about the Bible or Christianity. The good Samaritan didn’t need to go to the other side of the planet to find people who needed help. The good Samaritan used his own money to help others, not robbing his neighbors to support his charity. The good Samaritan expected the man in his care to eventually get well and no longer need care. The Bible is full of useful lessons that are lost on militant atheists. Like a pearl is to swine.

      • Professor Hale says:

Maybe the Catholic Church (TM) should use some of the BILLIONS in profits from American tax dollars they made from importing migrants into the USA against the expressed wishes of their host nation citizens and their own parishioners.

“Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants,” DHS officials said in a statement obtained by The Post.

Should Congress approve more funds for the FAA so they can hire more Air Traffic Controllers?

    Same for NTSB?

The flurry of air accidents these past couple of weeks are likely just a coincidence, but if people lose confidence in the safety of air travel it’s a problem.

    • Jl says:

The shortage in air traffic controllers was mainly due to DEI hiring, where many qualified white applicants were refused because…they were white.

      • david7134 says:

Jeff supports racism in government and elsewhere.

      • Professor Hale says:

Jeff doesn’t know how hiring works for federal government employees. If the job has a vacancy, Congress already approved the money to pay the person who gets hired. The FAA has lots of vacancies.
