People’s Republik Of Colorado Looks To Require Climate (scam) Labels At Gas Stations

Have the labels required elsewhere made any difference? They sure haven’t stopped the lawmakers from driving fossil fueled vehicles

Colorado gas stations would have to post climate change warnings under bill passed by House

climate doom yearly

Wait, I don’t have global heating on here?

Gas stations across Colorado would have to post a sticker warning drivers that their fuel use contributes to climate change under legislation that narrowly passed the state House on Wednesday.

House Bill 1277 squeaked out of the chamber with 33 votes, the minimum needed to clear the chamber; 30 representatives voted no, with some Democrats joining Republicans. The measure will now advance to the state Senate.

If passed, it would essentially establish a prominent warning requirement similar to the labels affixed to cigarette packages for decades. By July 1, 2026, gas stations and other fuel retailers would have to display a sticker that states: “Warning: Use of this product releases air pollutants and greenhouse gases, known by the state of Colorado to be linked to significant health impacts and global heating.”

Global heating!!!!1!! Um, have the warnings on cigarettes made a difference?

At gas stations, the sticker would be placed on the pump. The warning must also be displayed conspicuously in black letters on a white background.

The bill’s sponsors said the labels were intended to inform Coloradans about the sources of climate change, and they wrote in the bill that the warnings “may encourage consumers to reduce their consumption” of fossil fuels and “to use alternative produces when appropriate.”

“The purpose of this bill is to equip our neighbors with knowledge so they make decisions accordingly,” said Denver Democratic Rep. Jennifer Bacon, the House’s assistant majority leader and the bill’s sponsor. Rep. Junie Joseph, a Boulder Democrat, is also sponsoring it.

The Denver Post has reached out to the bill’s sponsors, especially Bacon and Joseph, to see if they have given up their own use of fossil fueled vehicles and purchased electric vehicles. We did not receive a response.

Um, yeah, I made up that last paragraph. Because the DP is a Reliable Democratic Party Ally, and would never ask.

Aw c’mon Teach, this little decal will discourage drivers from buying unneeded gasoline therefore saving our planet.
And to think it only took two airhead chicks to figure out this brilliant solution.
    Fucking genius.

Complete waste of time. Most of us have sign fatigue. Society is overwhelmed with useless and nonsense signs. So many signs are of no value that we just ignore them. Instructions on a bottle of shampoo, really? A warning label on a bag of ice that tells us there is nothing but frozen water in ice? A warning sign on everything you buy telling us the state of California has determined what you just bought is full of carcinogens? The first 5 pages of a new drill’s user’s manual devoted to warnings? The only worthwhile sign on a gas pump is the scratched out picture of Biden pointing at the price of gas saying “I did that.”

I’m old enough to remember when gas stations had stickers on the pumps telling customers how much tax was on each gallon of gasoline. While I’ve, in the last several years, seen such stickers on pumps in West Virginia, that’s the only place I’ve seen them since the 1970s.

Currently, Colorado levies 28.2¢ per gallon on gasoline, which is below the national average of 33¢.

Nationally, Pyrite State has the highest fuel taxes, 69.8¢, on top of the fed’s 18.4¢, followed by Illinois’ 67.1¢ and Pennsylvania’s 58.7¢.

The signs and stickers have outlived any usefulness.

If you don’t realize that cigarettes are bad for you by now, you haven’t been paying attention.

If you don’t understand that burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide you can’t be helped by a sticker!

I still have yet to see any objective proof that atmospheric Carbon Di-Oxide is anything but plant food, and necessary for continued aerobic life on this planet!

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Commenter: I still have yet to see any objective proof that atmospheric Carbon Di-Oxide (sic) is anything but plant food,

Plants DO convert carbon dioxide into long-chain organic molecules, using energy supplied by sunlight.

There IS objective proof that carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbs electromagnetic radiation in infrared wavelengths. This fact is the basis for anthropogenic global warming.

In 1859, Irish physicist John Tyndall demonstrated that gases, including carbon dioxide and water vapor, absorb infrared radiation.

Thank you Fat Jeff, that experiment from UPenn convinced me that the concept of carbon causing warming is a complete hoax. You did not understand what they did.

They’re just gonna “love” Cooper Jo Frederick, 24, while he’s in federal prison for about 20 years with time off for good behavior.

They need to put a sticker on the state capitol “Warning: Entering this building will lower your IQ by 20%”

    Enjoy your new asshole, dumbass.

Homeland Security agents nabbed a Texas man who allegedly vowed to “open fire” on ICE agents coming to his neighborhood — and said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem should be sent to a gulag.

Robert King, a US citizen, was collared in McKinney, Texas, after he made the disturbing threats online, Homeland Security Investigations said Wednesday.

  8. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Firebombing businesses and vandalizing automobiles is against the law and should be punished accordingly.

In the United States and Canada, there have been 41 bombings, 173 arsons, and 91 attempted bombings or arsons targeting abortion providers. 11 providers or employees have been murdered by anti-abortion violence.

Donald Trump pardoned 23 anti-abortion activists convicted of blocking clinics and/or harassment.

Should Michael F. Griffin (murdered Dr David Gunn) or Scott Roeder (murdered Dr George Tiller) be pardoned?

    • drowningpuppies says:

      Well, should they?

C’mon Rimjob, you’re a big boy, enough with the silly rhetoricals.

      Bwaha! Lolgf Loser!

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

        Pissant,

When you’ve finished sucking, look up the ADJECTIVE ‘rhetorical’. LOFL.

Don’t Get Any In Your Hair!!

        • drowningpuppies says:

So you really do not want an answer.
          That’s why it’s considered a rhetorical question.
Thought you knew that since you use that logical fallacy quite often.

You don’t really have to get all nasty about it since you didn’t understand…

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            Pissant,

So you agree that ‘rhetorical’ is an adjective, not a noun.

Our work here is done! For now.

The question about pardons was not rhetorical.

          • drowningpuppies says:

Uh, no. Your use of a logical fallacy was explained. You’re just too stupid to process the information. You were and are wrong which is not unusual for you.
BTW, neither of the murderers you mentioned was pardoned. One died in prison and the other will soon.
Now run along, child. Your lesson for the day is over.

            Bwaha! Lolgfy Loser!

  9. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Remember a year ago when conservatives considered EVs fire-prone death traps? What has changed, LOL?

Anyway, they are not. The truth is that EVs are less fire prone than gas-powered cars. That said, over 40 people HAVE died in Tesla fires since 2013.

For 2013 through 2022 (for the U.S.), 321 total accidents involving Tesla vehicles were reported, leading to 148 deaths. Thirty seven (37) of those accidents involved fires resulting in forty nine (49) deaths.

N.B. – Over 40,000 Americans die in auto accidents each year! (44,680 in 2024). Some 200,000 automobile fires occur each year in the U.S. resulting in some 600 deaths (just over 1% of all auto deaths). Few of those deaths are from Tesla fires.

    • drowningpuppies says:

Rimjob: Remember a year ago when conservatives considered EVs fire-prone death traps? What has changed, LOL?

Should another of your logical fallacies be pointed out or do you wish to look it up on your own?

      Bwaha! Lolgf Loser!
