Trump signs order to ‘make America’s showers great again’
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday lifting restrictions on how much water can be used by shower heads, saying his administration would “make America’s showers great again.”
The order underscored how Trump remains fixated on one of his favorite targets — more efficient shower heads that he has blamed for ruining his “perfect” hair — even in the midst of global upheaval caused by his turbulent tariff policies.
“I like to take a nice shower to take care of my beautiful hair,” Trump said before signing the order at the White House. “I have to stand in the shower for 15 minutes until it gets wet. … It’s ridiculous.”
In a fact sheet sent to reporters, the White House said the order “frees Americans from excessive regulations that turned a basic household item into a bureaucratic nightmare,” adding that Trump would “end the Obama-Biden war on water pressure and make America’s showers great again.”
You can feel the anger in the WP writing, despite Trump pretty much joking around. But, Dems do not understand jokes unless they involve killing people who do not agree with them.
The order, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, directs the Energy Department to rescind a regulation issued under President Barack Obama and later reinstated under President Joe Biden. The rule limited the flow from each shower head on the market to 2.5 gallons of water per minute.
There’s actually a big difference between the shower head in my shower, which has been replaced a few times because I use it a lot, and the one in the spare bedroom, which was there when I bought the home in 2009. That one is older and has a higher flow.
Yet manufacturers of shower heads are not clamoring for another rollback. Few manufacturers offer fixtures that fall under the definition from Trump’s first term, according to the Appliance Standards Awareness Project, an energy conservation advocacy group.
Has the WP consider that they could retool a bit? Or that other companies could start offering them? Oh, right, in Socialist World that never happens. And don’t forget Obama and Biden did this in the name of ‘climate change’ and extreme-environmentalism.

The left don’t understand science. Water is never wasted, but returns to the environment. It may have to be processed through sewage treatment plants, or, in my case, filtered through the dirt of the earth — that’s how septic tanks work — but it returns to the environment.
With the new — at least new as of 2018 — propane-fired water heater, we have luxuriously hot water, hot water that lasts and lasts, and yes, I have found myself luxuriating in the flow of hot water for longer showers.

I have a water fall shower head in our stand up shower. I just remove the water restrictor before installing and I get a lot more the that beautiful water flowing over me. As Dana points out the gray water then is returned to the earth thru my septic system. I have read that one brand is making a shower head that you cannot remove the restrictor, of course some redneck engineer solved this with a simple power tool. Gotta’ love Americans.

It’s sad that a billionaire doesn’t know someone who knows someone who can get him a better shower head. But it is great that the Federal government is no longer participating in this regulative over-reach. I have used it (and the low flush toilets) for years as an example of how America is no longer really free due to our own government not being able to say “no” to every new idea that comes along. CO2 regulations are just the latest “good ideas” to make regulators and activists happy at everyone else’s expense.
I just remove the flow restrictors in my shower heads.
Water restrictions are something that people who live in Hives need to worry about because none of them have individually metered water use and they neglectfully waste a lot of it. For them, it is a community resource that costs everyone when it is wasted. Low flow devices are perfectly useful alternatives for landlords to install to lower costs that they pay. Totally senseless for people who live in Ohio where fresh drinking water is so abundant it literally falls out of the sky. Another onse size fits all solution to a problem we don’t all share.
