They think they have a big scoop with a front page story. But, hey, it’s a good reminder for Republicans. And an eye opener for the Trump Deranged
What President Trump’s team wants from the rest of the world
More natural gas purchases from American firms. Fewer tariffs on U.S. exports. Lower taxes on Silicon Valley tech giants. Pledges to stop China from using other nations to ship its products to the United States.
These are just some of the demands the Trump administration is expected to make in negotiations with dozens of countries that are trying to avoid steep levies that were briefly put in place last week before being abruptly delayed. While substantial confusion remains about what precisely the White House will want, a clearer picture of what these bilateral deals could look like is beginning to emerge, according to interviews with more than a dozen people involved in or briefed on the talks, some of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to reflect private deliberations.
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump suddenly paused large-scale tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on more than 70 nations, a move he partially attributed to alarming fluctuations in the bond market. The president said the tariffs would remain suspended for 90 days to give his advisers and their foreign counterparts time to reach individual agreements — a process he said had already begun with Vietnam, Japan, South Korea and Israel, among other countries. (Trump has left in place a 10 percent tariff on virtually all imports to the United States, while escalating tariffs on China to more than 100 percent as the pause on other countries remains in effect.)
White House officials have expressed optimism that deals could be reached in the next few weeks.
There’s really no confusion as to what Trump wants, and the first paragraphs was correct. What he’s doing is meant to keep other countries off balance, never being fully straight forward. Because that’s what they often do in the business world. The ends are easy. The means are what are causing heartache in countries. And Liberal news rooms.
But substantial fuzziness remains about exactly what these deals could look like, in part because of uncertainty about the president’s objectives. Even some of Trump’s advisers privately acknowledge that they lack clarity about the goals, two of the people said.
Part of it is seeing what the other countries will offer. How far they are willing to go. How far Trump and his people can push them.
And, maybe the American news media could support America winning economically even though Orange Man Bad is in office.

Mr Teach is correct. Chaos is the objective with 47. He’s crazy!!
BTW, Maine has 2 transgender athletes. Lawless Forty-seven has cut funding to the state! But wait, there’s more…
Our far-out pharmacist wrote:
It seems that the distinguished Mr Dowd thinks that it’s OK for boys to play in girls’ sports, or hang out in girls’ locker rooms, as long as there aren’t too many of them.
What would be the threshold number that would make Mr Dowd question his position?
Stopping food aid to 10s of thousands of school kids in Maine seems to be an outsized reaction.
Shouldn’t Maine make the decision?
We understand that 47’s schtick is to pander to his far-right base. He let’s fly at two transgender athletes and our far-right plasterer agrees with him.
It’s much ado about very little to distract the populace from 47’s failing policies. “Don’t worry about inflation, jobs or your 401K, look at the trannies, islamists, waste, fraud and gang-members!”.
Could even our socialist from St Louis be opposed to those things?
Our fascist from Fayette extols the virtues of “More natural gas purchases from American firms. Fewer tariffs on U.S. exports. Lower taxes on Silicon Valley tech giants. Pledges to stop China from using other nations to ship its products to the United States”.
Why involve the government? Let the markets decide. The United States is already the largest producer of natural gas, although China just stopped importing US gas. Russia and Iran are also significant producers. China and the EU are the largest natural gas importers. Not sure the 145% tariffs on Chinese goods (telephones and computer were just exempted) will help. Ready! Fire! Aim!
Why lower taxes on tech giants just so working stiffs can make up the difference? We have $36 TRILLION in debt.
Why would we stop China’s trade with others?
47 imagines that tariffs are the sole source of our trade deficits. They’re not, no matter how beautiful he considers the word. We import diamonds and clothing from Lesotho, who buy little from the US!!! The median income of Lesotho is about $1000/yr.
@DOWD.
Either you are for the working man, or you’re not.
You ask why?
It is simple. If you tariff foreign goods, there is little incentive for companies to export jobs overseas. It is much simpler for them to return to the USA, where corporate taxes are lower than in many cases they are forced to pay in their other country.
As a result. JOBS. More Jobs, more manufacturing in the USA and more national security by not depending on CHINA to make our medicine and dog food and electronics. No more Chinese spies stealing our tech at home and forcing American companies to give them their tech to use China’s land to build things.
CHINA is pure fuking evil and not just to the USA. They do this to everyone.
China makes little of our medicines.
As of February 2025, there were 482,000 US manufacturing job openings, according to the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey.
Although we’re in line for a recession, our current jobless rate is low.
Mr 47 has already said he plans to negotiate the tariffs. But don’t we have to maintain the tariffs on China to prompt US manufacturers to build plants here?
How long will it take to build the plants to make telephones and computers?
Ruh roh! While Mr 47 dissmissed Putin’s missile attack on Ukrainian civilians a “mistake”, 47’s Envoy to Ukraine said the killings “crosses any line of decency”. Mr Kellogg, we hardly knew ye.
But we knew that…
Rimjob’s a loser!
Bwaha! Lolgfy Loser!
MAGA47 Motherfucker!
So Elwood, you’re either stupid, naive or ignorant. Take your pic. When president Trump said Putin was making a mistake he didn’t mean just an error you fool, he ment a technical miscalculation which would bring harm down on him in the future.
The deaths of how many military age men in Russia and Ukraine will satisfy your bloodlust for war I wonder? I suppose you really don’t care since they are mostly white men. If they were Muslim or black you’d be running around screaming Holocaust at the top of your lungs. You really are an evil person.
Hi CarolAnn,
Hope all is well.
I oppose the killing in Ukraine. It could stop today if Putin would pull his troops out. He invaded Ukraine, with the only provocation being Ukraine was no longer a Russian state. Mr Forty-seven had said – either stupidly, naively or ignorantly – that he would end the Russia offensive even before the inauguration!
You’re not suggesting that President Zelenskyy surrender Ukraine to Russia are you?? That would be stupid, naive or ignorant!
Here’s what forty-seven said yesterday: “I think it was terrible. And I was told they made a mistake. But I think it’s a horrible thing.”
He didn’t say who told him “they made a mistake”. It sure sounds like he was saying that Putin accidentally sent two missiles into Sumy. But maybe forty-seven DID mean that it was a tactical error for Putin to attack civilians, including children, women and men.
Anyway, today foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, told the Kommersant newspaper that Moscow had targeted “a get-together of Ukrainian military chiefs with their Western counterparts” in Sumy.
ED: “He [Putin] invaded Ukraine, with the only provocation being Ukraine was no longer a Russian state.”
So? There are at least 6 major wars going on around the world right now. What makes this particular one our problem?
It’s Europe’s problem, too. Russia invaded a nascent democracy bordering allies like Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova and Slovakia. There next step would be the Baltic, NATO members Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania.
Why are we spending billions USD in Israel every year?
Interestingly enough inflation and prices have lowered since him tariffs have gone into effect.
Why?
Less products are currently available for consumption, more demand less product is bound to lower inflation. Prices are going down because people are not purchasing these higher priced goods. In order to sell their items they need for the countries of origin to eat some of the tariffs.
Lowering taxes, will put more money into the hands of consumers while the tariffs will offset the lost revenue of lower taxes.
WIN, WIN. Its why WAIL STREET suddenly is begining to see the light.
Secondly all and I do mean ALL of these countries have HIGH TARIFFS ON USA GOODS. Now suddenly when the USA puts tariffs on their goods, they all bitch, moan, threaten and fluster over what THEY THEMSELVES HAVE BEEN DOING FOR DECADES.
TARIFFS ARE GOOD or else all of the countries on the planet would be bankrupt and 3rd world countries. Tariffs are good. Its just been so easy to FUK the USA and now that Trump wants fairness and equity. They suddenly are aghast.
Even Canada has finally had a light bulb moment which is why NOW the Conservative party has regained most of the ground they gave up to the liberals when Trump first announced his tariffs.
Some items in Canada have 250 percent tariffs on USA goods. The USA in kind has a whopping 10 percent tariffs and in many cases ZERO tariffs while DEFENDING THEM so they don’t have to build a military.
Welcome to Trumps GOLDEN AGE.
Recessions and economic stagnation usually see prices drop.
There was a 20% drop in crude oil prices just after forty-seven announced the trade war. It’s just over $61 USD/bbl today, meaning that US producers can’t make much profit.
Rimjob: It’s just over $61 USD/bbl today, meaning that US producers can’t make much profit.
Economic advice from the GRTX guru himself.
Bwaha! Lolgf!
Fat Jeff,
You must be the stupidity individual ever. The bottom price for oil is somewhere around $40. We are a long way from the price. Why not stay with things you know? Oh, that is nothing.
GRTX $O.027 today
Can’t make much profit at that price.
Bwaha! Lolgf!
