Oh, no, Dems will have to actually vote on the Iraq War and whether or not to pull the troops out. Of course, in their hypocrisy and disingenuousness (it’s a word now!), they will not vote their consensuses, but lie (via Blogs For Bush):
House Republicans maneuvered for swift rejection Friday of any notion of immediately pulling U.S. troops out of Iraq, sparking a nasty, sometimes personal debate over the war and a Democratic lawmaker’s own call for withdrawal.
Furious Democrats accused the GOP of orchestrating a political stunt, leaving little time for debate and changing the meaning of a withdrawal resolution offered by Democratic Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania.
For those reasons, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sent word to rank-and-file Democrats to vote – with the Republicans – against immediate withdrawal of American troops. (sorry, if I used more yellow, would be unreadable)
Isn’t that what the Dems have been clamoring for? Withdrawl? Surrender to the likes of Al-Zarqawi and Wahabi terrorists? A redux of Vietnam, where the Dem Congress forced a pullout and left the American military, as well as the whole country, in a funk that took years to restore? (God, were the Libs pissed when Americans took pride in America again, after Reagan was elected and took office.)
Murtha offered a resolution that would force the president to withdraw the nearly 160,000 troops in Iraq “at the earliest practicable date.” It would establish a quick-reaction force and a nearby presence of Marines in the region. It also said the U.S. must pursue stability in Iraq through diplomacy.Â
“Eh, Mr. Zarqawi, if you don’t go away I will taunt you again. I fart in your general direction.”
Yup, diplomacy. Because, you know, that works wonders with people who cut heads off.
