After all this time, ultra Left Wingers can still surprise me with their insanity
How do you boil a frog?
You don’t throw the frog into a pot of boiling water, it would immediately jump out. You let the frog sit in warm water and slowly heat the pan until the frog boils to death.
How do you erect the infrastructure of a police state?
You incrementally condition both the police and the public that relinquishing liberty in the name of security is necessary because ‘we live in dangerous times.’
And that incremental condition would be from an AP article
Police are planning "in-your-face" shows of force in public places, saying the random, high-profile security operations will keep terrorists guessing about where officers might be next.
Deputy Police Chief Frank Fernandez, who announced the program Monday, said as an example, officers might surround a bank, check the IDs of everyone going in and out, and hand out leaflets about terror threats.

Here we have American police chiefs using military terminology and directing it against American citizens. The random sieges, ID checking and public transport casing is the very benchmark of a police state.
During a recent trip to the States I realized that the ‘land of the free’ is in many ways less free than the quasi-Socialist European cesspit I call my home.
What we have is a typical over-reaction by the Hardcore Left. The glass is not half empty; it is completely empty, and Bush has drained it. I feel sad for these people, that their lives are so bereft of anything positive. Perhaps Paul Joseph Watson should stay in Europe, and let us worry about our security, because, guess what? The ACLU has no problem with the plan, at least for the time being:
Howard Simon, executive director of ACLU of Florida, said the Miami initiative appears aimed at ensuring that people’s rights are not violated.
"What we’re dealing with is officers on street patrol, which is more effective and more consistent with the Constitution," Simon said. "We’ll have to see how it is implemented."
Now, if the Florida ACLU has no problem with the plan, it must be, well, beyond Constitutional.
Are there times when the police, the FBI, etc, go overboard and violate our Rights? Yes, it happens. Just like in every walk of life, people make mistakes, go to far, do the wrong thing. But isolated incidents do not make a "police state." It happened to me once, where an Alchohol Law Enforcement officer took the ID out of the wallet he took from my hand, and searched my trunk without a warrant. Case of purchasing alchohol underage with a fake ID was not thrown out of court (I did it), but the ALE officer was written up and demoted.
But these folks at sites like Prison Planet live in their own separate world. The war on terror doesn’t exist. The people at Gitmo are "goatherders and shoemakers." Who just happened to be caught fighting against US in Afghanistan. Pakistani’s were grabbed and sold to the US for $25K. And the absurdity continues.
I do not feel my Rights have been trampled on or taken away. How about you?
I’m fine. I do not check out library books that are subversive, I do not carry explosives, I am a law abiding citizen and therefore if the authorities want to check me out, have at it. Those who are so against reasonable measures to protect our nation by identifying potential evil doers make me wonder what personal behaviors are they afraid will be exposed.
