Stop The ACLU! They Hate Christianity

The ACLU and its supporters can pontificate on them just wanting to uphold the 1st Amendment and make sure there is a "seperation between Church and State," but that would be disengenuous, at best. First, there is no such Constitutional provision, based on everything I have ever been taught and read, including that piece of parchment that the ACLU seems to have never read.

Personally, I do not believe the whole "separation of Church and State" argument that many have put forth. In my reading, that is not what the 1st Amendment states. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;…. Simply, Congress cannot pass any laws for or against religion. The Framers were worried about a national religion, such as the one that not only drove the Pilgrims from England, but the religion put upon the colonies by the Church of England, as well as the influence that the Church had in the daily lives of the Colonists. The Framers felt that the People should be able to worship as they wanted, free of governmental influence or involvement.

Why do we never hear any stories about the ACLU threatening lawsuits or filing lawsuits against individuals or groups that practice a religion other then Christianity? Even the most minor aspect of the use of Christianity sets the ACLU off

According to the Associated Press, the American Civil Liberties Union is protesting the prayer that opens meetings of the Wasilla Planning Commission. The ACLU says singling out Jesus Christ in the local government setting amounts to sectarianism.

Wasilla Planning Commission Chairman Stan Tucker routinely calls on a fellow commissioner to pray. Tucker — a Baptist pastor — says he started asking someone to open meetings with prayer when he took the chairman’s seat in February 2001 and no commissioners objected.

Here’s a little city up in Alaska, minding their own business, and the ACLU comes along and is going to force their beliefs on them. I guess that this story is another illustration of the ACLU not only hating Christianity, but of them actually violating the 1st Amendment, ie, Freedom of Religion. They are restricting people from following their beliefs. Who’s acting in an un-Constitutional manner, hmm?
