Back on the 29th, I wrote a tongue in cheek post on how climate alarmists could link the Egyptian and Tunisian riots to the anthropogenic global warming idiocy. I see that Bookworm also had thoughts along the same line (here and here). And now, finally, a True Believer connects the dots

Reports: Egyptian and Tunisian riots were driven in part by the spike in global food prices

Food prices were driven up by extreme weather and high oil prices

And the talking point “extreme weather” means our pal climate change!

This summer’s extreme global weather raised fears of a “Coming Food Crisis,” as CAP’s John D. Podesta and Jake Caldwell warned in Foreign Policy: “Global food security is stretched to the breaking point, and Russia’s fires and Pakistan’s floods are making a bad situation worse.” Earlier this month I discussed how, in fact, “Extreme weather events helped drive food prices to record highs.” Back then, experts were worried about food riots. Now they are happening.

And, of course, “extreme weather events” are ONLY caused by mankind driving fossil fueled vehicles and living a modern lifestyle. Except, non-hysterical scientists said the Russian fires and Pakistan floods were just events, as have happened throughout the lifespan of the Earth.

Joe goes on (and on and on) about rising food prices and gas prices, linking them to “extreme weather events” (if it snows or rains, it’s now an extreme weather event, of course), and ending with

Those who think that the serious impacts of climate change — and our inane energy policies — on the world economy and U.S. national security are decades away are simply not paying attention.

See? It’s AGW! It’s the only thing it could be. It couldn’t possibly be natural, simply part of the evolution of the Earth, nope, it’s because……Pat Austin drove a car! But now, Obama should know how to respond: he can tell the rioters and dictator that they need to reduce their carbon footprints and invest in clean energy….what’s that? They get a ton of energy from the Aswan Dam? Well, that just won’t do. Dams are great in theory, but, actually building one could harm a fish or something.
