AGW Today: Boiling Flipper And Empowering Women

Let’s start with yet another bit of deranged climate alarmism. Here’s Tim Worstall at Forbes (via Tom Nelson)

As a handy guide, “RCPnumber” should be interpreted thusly: the higher the number after the RCP the closer we are to boiling Flipper as the last humans fight on the desert shores of Antarctica. The lower the number the more we can say, “Phew, we dodged the problem”. More specifically, RCP2.6 means CO2 peaks out at 490 ppm and then declines. RCP8.5 means it gets to 1370 ppm and perhaps keeps going leading to that dolphin BBQ.

RCP is “representative concentration (or carbon) pathways“, a way of making the so-called alarmist science even more complicated, the better to dupe people, and make them think the oceans will boil dolphins. I’d wonder if it could get much dumber than boiling/barbecuing dolphins (umm, barbecued dolphin), but, we all know the answer is “no, they’ll be something just as dumb if not dumber within a week.”

Then there’s this

Climate change can’t be solved without empowering women, and global problems can’t be solved without addressing climate change, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane says.

Then we get a long explanation about how women produce most of the worlds’ food, and that weather, damn it to hell, actually changes, and can cause hotcoldwetdry, which never happened before. But, unless we spend trillions of Other People’s Money, women will not be empowered. Or, perhaps we can empower them with modern power sources, and teach them that backwards restrictive religions like Islam are bad for them, especially in Africa, where fundamentalist Islam is spreading like wildfire.

Is that anything like the windchill factor during summer?

  2. gitarcarver says:

I am not sure if you are joking, Cap’n, but the summer equivalent of “wind chill” is “feels like.” This is where because of the sun, lack of air movement, humidity, etc, an ambient air temperature of “x” degrees “feels like” “y” degrees.

  3. captainfish says:

hehehe.. yeah I was joking. Making fun of the “wind chill” in winter. But, they never say “wind chill” in summer even though the effect is really the same = when wind blows.

So, sure, you feel a bit hotter during summer when wind does not blow due to humidity, but not all places have humidity. but all places have wind. Thus, wouldn’t a summer wind-chill be called for?

“Today, high of 100 and a wind out of the NW at 30mph. Thus, the wind chill will make it feel like 90.”
