The UN is taking the position that global warming is all Man’s fault, or, to write like a Lib, the UN is using global warming to distract from their Oil For Food and sexual harrasment issues:
There is growing evidence of a link between global warming and natural disasters such as droughts and flooding, the head of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) said on Friday.
But Michel Jarraud, secretary general of the United Nations weather agency, said more research was needed into the links between global warming and extreme conditions like hurricanes.
Jarraud told a news briefing: “We know for certain that there is an intensification of the hydrological cycle, which translates into greater risk in some areas of a rain deficit and accentuated problems of drought linked to climate change.
Carbon dioxide, which the WMO says accounts for 90 percent of warming over the past decade, is largely generated by human activity involving the burning of fossil fuels.
“There is not yet a consensus in the scientific community on the link between hurricanes and global warming, but there are leads. I am fairly confident that in two or three years we will have more credible answers,” Jarraud said.
So, there you have it, folks. Global Warming is primarily Man’s fault, straight from the United Nations. Yet, then they go on to admit that they do not have a consesus or evidence, just leads. Oh, wait a minute, they’re wrong. Back on 2/24/06, I linked to this article, which said
Climate change can’t be blamed for any of the events that made the past tropical cyclone season the worst in recent times, a report by a group of international experts says.
“No single high impact tropical cyclone event of 2004 and 2005 can be directly attributed to global warming,†it says in a report submitted to the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) Commission for Atmospheric Sciences, which is meeting in South Africa .
Dr John McBride is a principal research scientist at Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology and reports to the WMO on the effects of climate change on tropical weather.
Notice the “reports to the WMO.” Seems apparent that the WMO ignored the report, or did like Lefties do, and read an interpretation into it that is completely false.
Do we need to reduce the CO2 output? Yes. Because their are large amounts of air pollutants that come with the CO2. But, any global warming, if it is happening, is simply a result of natural causes. A natural cycle of the Earth. The Sun being hotter. The Little Ice Age lasted for several hundred years. There was a warmer period before that, called the Global Climate Optimum. That is what it looks like is happening now.

Past time to get out ot the UN, sell the buildings and let them re-settle in France.
Amen to that, Chief!
