Tom Nelson actually beat me to the “Bummer” headline of sorts. I saw this typically unginged story over at Grist this morning, had plans to write it with ye olde Droid this afternoon (which is why there are no hyperlinks in the excerpts except one)
Here’s the current list of delicious foods that climate change is going to take away: pecan pie, chocolate, coffee, wine, bacon, peanut butter. Now, a new addition: oysters.
A century ago, oysters weren’t a delicacy at all: They were cheap and plentiful. As the climate changes, what we eat will, too. Instead of slurping down oysters, we’ll be crunching on crickets and calling it fancy.
Doesn’t that sound great? We’ll all be snacking on crickets, at least Tull climate change kills them off. Climate change that causes the air to get cold, much like oysters are having issues because of cold Pacific water..huh?
Colder, more acidic waters are welling up from the depths of the Pacific Ocean and streaming ashore….
Isn’t AGW supposed to make everything warmer?
