Didn’t I just get done noting this morning that Obama’s own Jobs Council favors more oil programs?
(Politico) The State Department on Wednesday will reject the Keystone XL pipeline, multiple sources following the project told POLITICO.
The Obama administration’s formal announcement is expected at 3 p.m. from Deputy Secretary of State William Burns. Although the permit would be rejected, pipeline company TransCanada would be allowed to continue to work on and pitch an alternative route through Nebraska.
Spokesweasel Jay Carney even had the temerity to blame the GOP. Interestingly, AFL-CIO head Richard Trumpka is on the same side as the GOP.
Anyhow, supposedly Keystone XL is not in the US’s national interest, per the State Department. Unfortunately, it may soon be in China’s national interest.
Our state’s Sierra Club rep claimed that the Obama’s decision was a good thing because its not good to put our oil in the hands of foreign interests.
Yeah, he must have forgot his schizophrenia medicine. It doesnt make any sense… as the oil is Canada’s and the pipeline would be ours.. and we would be able to have lots of jobs. But, that doesn’t mean anything to the Socialists.
Yeah, Obama could have put some work in on this thing and built a pipeline that was both environmentally friendly and delivered cheap oil and jobs to our nation- but he instead went on vacation in Hawaii, did a bunch of fundraisers, and did campaign stops all over the east coast. Lazy and incompetent.
This decision was not as hard as one thinks and probably for the best.
Just think…with the government involved they would have determined that ONLY unions can work on the pipeline and a 1 billion pipeline would have ended up costing 100 billion and taken 30 years to build.
He made the right choice in turning this down…..it needs to be a decision made by Romney when hes in the White House.
