And they’re getting really, really worked up over it
(News24) Cape Town – Scientists and environmentalists have reacted with anger to emerging reports that dismiss the reality of climate change.
Perhaps they should get mental health checkups before they harm others.
“No doubt, Africa is one of the most vulnerable continents to climate variability and change because of multiple stresses and low adaptive capacity. Environmental and climatic stress also raises existing inequalities between rich and poor,” Professor Oliver C Ruppel told News24.
Yeah, because this hasn’t gone on for billions of years. One of the popular hypotheses about the rise of Man is that the changing climate turned forests/jungles with lots of trees into savannas, causing our ancestors to come down out of the trees. Alas, Ruppel is a law professor, which I guess passes for a “climate scientist” nowadays.
Also mentioned are
- IPCC chair Rajendra Pachauri (no degree in climate science)
- Richard Worthington, World Wide Fund for Nature climate expert (no degree in climate science)
- Greenpeace Africa climate & energy campaigner Melita Steele. (no degree in climate science)
Ruppel is also a lead author for AR5, the next UN IPCC report. So, we now have lawyers writing the IPCC? Well, it’s now wonder, when he says stuff like this
“There is wide scientific consensus that the increased number and intensity of climate change induced natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis and hurricanes, is of alarming concern,” said Ruppel, though adding that not all climate events lead to disasters.
Climate astrology at its finest.
of course the climate has always been changing for 4 biilion years. Everyone knows/believes that except for the people who believe the Bible. Now most people believe that humans are also one of the causes of the climate changing. And the main cause is because CO@ is very efficient at trapping infared heat radiation.
troll is showing his bigotry and complete lack of knowledge in anything again.
BTW, how does it make our nation look when the president gets up in front of international audience and LIES about the temperature record?
Shameful.
But then, it’s nothing new for him. He terms excess spending as “cuts”. When going in to even more debt is termed “investments”. When shafting stockholders and gifting unions with billions of tax dollars is called “saving the economy”.
The Pope believes in the Bible john.
Why do you hate people who believe in green causes but believe in the Bible? Stop hating Catholics, john. Just stop the hate!
He hates the bible. he hates Christians. he hates women. he hates jews. he hates that the US has an economy. he hates the outdoors. he hates upstairs. he hates the light. he wants the American Navy to be solely about fighting “climate change”.
You can believe in whatever you want. Some people believe in Bigfoot. Doesn’t mean Bigfoot is real until you have hard physical proof.
Notice how John avoids the climate astrology, and that these folks mentioned aren’t even climate scientists?
Well, I don’t begrudge people in certain scholarly fields trying to apply their knowledge to other scholarly fields. They themselves may benefit from learning and the field may also benefit from a variety of intellectual backgrounds. Science is aided and grown and buffered by having eyes of different backgrounds look at how to fail the Null Hypothesis.
But, the reason that Teach and others like myself bring up\harp on the fact that these pions of leadership in the climatology field are nothing of the sort, is because they TOUT their credentials as climate scientists, shun those they disagree with to the point of near excommunication, and believe that their opinions are the only correct ones. Because the models say so. Yet, most don’t even have a background on how to read models or statistical outputs.
When something science is treated as a religion, then it is not science.
Genius quote of the day…
“There is wide scientific consensus that the increased number and intensity of climate change induced natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis and hurricanes, is of alarming concern,†said Ruppel, though adding that not all…
