And there’s even a website to figure out how much CO2 hashtags generate
(Grist) Want another reason to hate #RulesForFemales, #CutForBieber, #LessAmbitiousMovies, or whatever bullshit hashtag is trending right now? How about the fact that everything you do on Twitter is responsible for a certain amount of carbon emissions? OK, maybe not very much, but it adds up — and maybe it even adds up enough for you to shame participants into stopping.
For instance, it’s one thing to say you’re sick to the teeth of hearing about South by Southwest. It’s another thing to point to your #SXSW-obsessed friends and say “look, you assholes just farted out 827 grams of carbon about your dumb conference.â€
The website is TweetFarts. Though it doesn’t actually seem to do anything whenever I check a hashtag. Well, whichever way you slice it, you keep using those hashtags, Conservatives/Realists!
We had a high of 68 degrees today. The average is only 65 degrees. Thanks a lot you twitter douchebags. Now everything that can live at 65 degrees but dies at 68 degrees is DEAD. And it’s all thanks to you and your carbon emissions.
I’m not 100% sure of which animals can’t live at these arid temps, but I think it includes:
Puppies
Fluffy kittens
Some types of non-fluffy kittens
Polar bears
Dolphins
Yup. Your tweets are going to kill them all!
